I didn't want to put these photos in your thread because your ring is simply majestic. Here are two of mine that make our set triplets!

Photo 1 - irradiated red diamond (it is red although looks pinkish/purple in this photo
Photo 2 - irradiated green diamond
Photo 3 - showing the red a little better (although it still looks more red IRL) but please excuse the fluff!

Now do you see why I need your blue sapphire to add to the collection??????!!!!!! :naughty:

Please feel free to add your blue in this thread for others to see if you want. x

OOOOOOOOOH!

Those are am-A-zing!

Did you hear me gasp from there? I LOVE the color of those! OMG, lady, those are truly thread-worthy! The green is lovely, but the red makes me want to lick the screen. :cheeky:

Oh, do they sparkle like diamonds? And have fabulous color like a CS? Swoon!

Our tastes are very similar, LD, I am lusting for those now. Want! :Up_to_something:

I love the pointy halos, I think they are so classic, so never-goes-out-of-style settings, I am plotting how to get another one! :naughty:

But, ahem, I would like more pics, little lady. Hand shot? Actually, any type of shots, I can't live on just a couple. To live vicariously, there must be several shots!

Jealous, but happy that they're yours, LD, you deserve them. =)

Yowza! Does that make them triplets with iLander's blue?

LD what size finger are you??!?!?! Those look huge to me!

I love those!!!

Okay, that's it! My project goal for 2013 is to get the pointy cluster style halo from IDJ for my little (and often ignored) round blue sapphire. It's so blingtastic and classy that complements a smaller stone so well. Hope LD and iLander do not mind a copycat and see this as a very high compliment!

iLander - I've had to search my photo archives (because I'm too lazy to get the camera out!) but here's a handshot of the green! I will get the red out and take a few more photos in the next few days. To answer your question, as they're real diamonds the sparkle is amazing. On the red it throws off predominately pinks and purples with a few blues and is very flashy. The green has more spectrum of colour sparkle and you get all sorts of colours from that one! Clearly I would prefer to have natural rather than irradiated coloured diamonds (and the majority of my collection is natural) but the colour/size of these wouldn't be possible to buy within most mortals budget AND at least I can wear them and don't feel like I'm going to be mugged!

Sarahbear - My ring size is a US 6 / UK M/N. Both central diamonds are either .50ct or .75ct (can't remember which) but the diamonds are quite large by comparison so they're not small rings as you suspected.

Chrono - I can highly recommend this setting, especially if you have a smaller round that you want to give finger coverage. If you look at the inner prongs on both you'll see that on the green there are only 4 prongs but more on the red. I'm not sure which I prefer in all honesty as I think both work. Certainly on the green having the two colour gold works against the green.

Minous - yep! Triplets! That's why the lovely iLander NEEDS to let me play with her sapphire!

JewelFreak, Erinl, Enerchi - Thank you x

I do think it's a compliment! Thanks, Chrono!

I attached again (hope everyone isn't too sick of it) the photo of the emerald ring that was inside a Faberge egg, that I took at the Met, very similar to the setting of my sapphire and LD's stunning diamonds. The photo doesn't show it, but it was a fabulous emerald, very clear, blue-green in color. Can't get more classic design than that, right? Hey, if it's good enough for Faberge, it's good enough for me!

Chrono, if you do go ahead with it, I asked IDJ for claw prongs, and I feel they turned out well. I think the charge was minimal, around $50 or less. Be sure to tell them you're with PS and they will pick out their best diamonds. They told me the majority of my diamonds had hearts and arrows (I've gathered that is good, but not really sure, being a CSer) in them, even though they were only 10 pointers.

LD! :wavey: Did you get yours from IDJ? So they can do yellow gold prongs on a white gold setting? I've got to remember that! :naughty:

Love it even more on the hand! I want one now, it's so beautiful!

iLander - both of mine were made for me by a local jeweller in the UK probably about 5 or more years ago now.

Strangely I'm not a fan of the Faberge ring because I prefer the modern pointy look to the more traditional rounded shape. Having said that, if somebody were to give it to me, I wouldn't be returning it in a hurry

I hope I'll remember your advice when the time comes. Thanks!
PSer recommended - request clean well cut diamonds. Check.
Pointy claw prongs. Check
Pointy halo cluster, not rounded and smooth. Check.
:))
