My boyfriend before I met my current husband was a Sr. VP for a large company (so big..you all know it...its on your pc somewhere..yes he was older....yes his name is google-able...no I won't share..LOL) We we together for 14 months before I dumped his sorry butt for cheating (he took on a new position in D.C. as CEO of another corp--but while we did the long distance thing--well he made new 'friends' in D.C. and I found the emails when I was visiting)...

divergrrl and susi,
points well stated and made!!!! I have seen plenty around here that are giant stones and look like yellow, cracked glass, full of feathers, inclusions, carbon etc....So what stats would one require for a 5ct stone to be interested enough to really care what their husband does

!!!??? And I know several millionaires due to perssonal success and hardwork AND the inherited money types who wear modest, mainstream sized stones or original engagement stones that have never felt it important enough to upgrade or buy larger. I would personally be more intrigued by how they haven''t fallen victim to the temptaion of materialism (I am victim myself) and what they do for a living that has kept them grounded (so to speak).

It is interesting the observation (very true) that there are one carats that cost more than 5 carats, but I think size is what catches the eye immediately...anyone who knows stones would be able to see that when a stone is not great. But I think again, not just income is a factor, when some guys might save a lot over a period of time or sell something valuable a la Leadfoot to get their girl what the girl (or they!) want to have...I say, enjoy it and wear it in good health...
