For those who drive to work, what is your commute time?

I think my commute distance is about 15 miles? It takes me about 25 minutes to drive it.

It takes me about 15 minutes to get to work... 20-30 if there is bad weather or construction.

My school is about 9 miles away from my house.

20-25 minutes with minimal traffic, 45+ in evening traffic (ugh).

I drive about 5 miles to the hospital. When I get there crazy early, it takes 8-10 minutes. If I leave during rush hour, up to 25 min to drive *5* miles! Hate delaware.

I live in a rural area, I drive 8 miles one way and get there in 10-15 mins depending on the weather

I am hoping soon I will be working from my home

Thanks so much. . .Looks like I can deduct travel milage which will help A LOT! Yaah!. . .just got to keep my fingers crossed.

Good luck MC!

I drive 14 miles to work, and it takes me 32 to 36 minutes to get there (I leave at 6:20 AM) and anywhere from 40 to 70 minutes to get home, depending on when I leave.

I have to say that it sounds like some people are good commuters and some are . . . not. I despise being in the car for as long as I am every day, and it''s not even that long compared to many others. DH and I recently bought our home, so I''m going to see if I can get a job in the area high school, but I''m not getting my hopes up, it''s a nationally-recognized high school. Fancy shmancy, and very picky. Honestly, though, I''d give up my tenure and the very solid reputation I now have in my current job just to lessen my commute.

I live 38 miles from my job. The commute really only bothers me during inclement weather or after really late and tiring nights in my dojo. I do drive totally against the traffic, though, so that is very helpful! I use the time to call my family and friends.

As a pediatrician, however, I have to point out a potential negative. How long will it take you to get to your kids if one has to go home sick? Is there someone else nearby who could pick them up more quickly in an emergency?

I usually take a commuter bus (HOV lane!!), which is about 5 miles from my home. So, 5-10 minutes to bus stop, then an hour on the bus to downtown. It takes an hour, because once we get to downtown in about 30-40 minutes, I am one of the last stops.

However, when I drive (about once a week) it can be a different story. If I get on the highway before 6:30, then the 17 mile drive up the highway is about 25 minutes to my building... however, anytime after 6:45, I''m looking at a commute of at least 45 minutes to an hour.

2 1/2 to 3 hours a day total commute time. 100 miles round trip. And there is no public transportation option, else I assure you, I would avail myself of it.

~25 miles and it takes about 30mins.
