Not sure if this has been reported, however, when I tried to post a reply to any thread, I got a blank box with no options like this:



In order to see the options, I had to click the Smiles button (not tried the other 2 buttons), tried to insert an emoticon, and the options would appear without the emoticon.

I was and am using Chrome as my default browswer.

I am having the same problem...I have logged out and logged back in. Only when I quote someone do I get a cursor in the box and am able to post.

If one of you is experiencing an issue probably many folks are, we kindly ask you to keep the thread chatter to a minimum and only report new issues that have not been previously reported. That makes it easiest for the developers to solve issues.

There is a new anti-lurker feature on Android/Chrome browser. When not signed in, I get all kinds of cutouts on the screen. When logged in, it's fine. Chrome on Windows desktop seems fine logged out and logged in....although I had to go through all kinds of gyrations attaching/uploading files.

Developers, I've just found another one where it is taking you to a second page and asking you to confirm "liking" a post. That's unnecessary. Will get a screenshot if that is helpful, but this one seemed pretty clear cut.

I have a new error to report - tried to make a reply on another post, and it took me to the following error page. When I hit back and refreshed, my comment had posted.

The notifications icon now displays the number of notifications in black rather than the usual red.



On a side note, I’m happy to report that attaching images on mobile is back to how it used to be.

Imgur embedding is no longer working reliably for me. Sometimes it will show the photos/videos, other times it will be just a clickable link. Refreshing the page sometimes changes the situation - where there previously was a link, now there might be an embedded video, or the reverse might occur where a link replaces the video.

I feel bad for all the spamming Ella has to deal with...is there anything we can do to help? It's ridiculous all the spam that's occurring every day on PS. @Ella is there anything we can do to help?

And when we report it should we report all of it or is just one sufficient ? Posts created by the same "person"

We are working on other solutions, it has gotten particularly bad recently. We apologize that it's impacting everyone's experience. Believe it or not we still stop a huge percentage before it hits the forums, but they are getting craftier everyday and it can be hard to update our filters and tricks as fast as they do. I have asked the developers to look into some other options, we try to balance spam detection with ensuring that members can use the forum as they'd like. Unfortunately many of the ways to stop spam involve more moderating posts before they go up (post approval), restricting the number of posts/threads people can make per day, etc. It's a balance.

The best thing folks can do is report a post *once*, you do not need to report the spammer as well and if someone else has already reported one of their threads, you do not need to file a second report using another reason, you do not need to go through each one of their posts and report. Once I see someone is spamming, I delete all their posts as a matter of course even if not all posts have been reported. If I have 50 emails to click through as well, that counterintuitively actually makes it a bit slower for me to deal with everything.

On my phone and using safari, none of these icons at the top of the reply box are working.

This is the BB toggle. BBcode is, to put it simply, a text formatting code from the olden days that's typically used across forum boards. When you have the BBcode toggle on, you're basically telling the forum that you don't want to use its graphic tools, but want to use and see the BBcode that's used to format your message. This is why the icons aren't working.

So you're saying its a "me" problem not a "PS" problem Thanks! It worked! All my problems are solved @Ella so ignore my feedback.

Weeeeell... technically it's a bit odd that the BBcode toggle is on by default on some browsers and devices, but not on others, and you have to keep track of it specifically... But at least it's an easy fix. And in any case, it's been like that since before the big update, at least for me.
