  • If you used automatic login, visit login page and login again. Don''t forget to check "Remember..." button.
  • In your profile you can opt whether you want to receive emails from other members, allow new PM popup notifications, and choose different screen name.
  • New rich text editor, which should be friendlier to Netscape and Mozilla browsers.
  • No Session ID in the URL address.
  • Collapsible categories on the main page. Click "+" on the left of the category bars. Your settings will be used for the next time you browse the board.
Please let me know what you think (problems, comments, suggestions).

A few people are having problems with cookies/login including Garry and Fire & Ice

Leonid,

I llike the upgrade but I''m having problems in updating my profile: I wanted to allow PM pop-ups but instead was told my email wasn''t valid!

Also, it would be nice to have a spellcheck.

When you open your profile page, make sure all radio buttons are selected i.e. make a selection for each option group. Let''s see if it helps.

Yup. Tried again and a pop up came up stating "please input a valid email address", which is my same old one.

When I logged on this morning I got an internal server error page but it still logged me in.
Logged out an it let me log in no problems.
Edited profile no problems.
Logged in from from work no problems.
I like the new layout.

Does the new software allow you to keep sent PM?

Hello,
I like to use the "posted today" option and have no problem with page 1, but when trying to view the next page I get the following error message:

Nice... This is the first time I try posting anything since this morning's upgrade notification.

I second strmrdr's comments..

Plus.. for those of us HTML junkies (i.e. control freaks!), is there a way to be able to "see" what the behind-the-scene code that's being generated? You know, like the link </ a>

Oops.. never mind my question, I just saw what I was looking for right underneath my text. D'oh!
I like the fact that you can preview your msg, too.. without a pop-up.. Very nice, Leonid!

And I also second strmrdr's sentiment about sent PM.. I'd love to be able to keep track of what I sent to people.

*** Edited to add ***

I don't generally like to keep myself logged into the forum without actually going through the login process (i.e. not have a cookie automatically log me in the forum), is there a way whereby:

* when I kill the browser on my computer, it also logs me out of the forum.. OR

* after being inactive for some specified time (maybe the user can set the time-out timeframe), then my session is timed out.. or is this what this upgrade is trying to address in the first place?

I''m having a funny problem.

When I use the Posted Today button, I can see one page of posts to which I can reply as normal. When I click on page 2, I get an "unspecified error" message. Thus I can only see the first page under Posted Today.

If I view an individual forum such as Diamond Hangout, I can click on page 2 and see the posts.

Would like to see a quote command for quoting a single sentance. Quote color box could be toned down to a light grey.

Overall...nice.

Dave

Edit to add: Bold, Italic, underline command appear to be not working at this time. Also <blockquote> command not working either. OOps just can''t see HTML. Like to see it.
That''s easy :)

Ok.. speaking of quoting... in this example I''m doing right now.. I''m wondering if it''d be easier to have 2 different tones.. darker for the 1st quote, then lighter from the 2nd quote?

That way the reader knows that what''s being quoted have 2 sources?

Or is that too much to ask and I''m just being way to finicky?

Re: saving outgoing PM. This is not possible now. What you can do is to add your user name into recipient address (i.e. buddyname; yourname). Then create a separate folder and save your own messages there. Kinda stupid but that''s the only way to do it right now

Re: manual logging. Just log out and next time you login chech the box again to clean up your login information.

Dave, after inserting a quote, double click on the quoted text (box) and you''ll be able to edit it and leave what you need.

New editor box has HTML button at the bottom where you can controll your html code. In normal mode new editor won''t undestand html codes (less chance to mess up)

I tried to reply to a post but forgot to attach the file first....but now it won''t let me cancel & start again, even after logging out & back in....am I missing something?

Libster, good catch. thanks. I hope it''s fixed now.

Could you just simply compose a new post with attached picture? You are not able to remove your post but should be able to edit it (click Edit button in the right top corner of your post)

Leonid,
It didn''t like my work email address because it has an aprostophe. It accepted my profile edits when I used my home email address. Is there a way I can use my work email address instead? I''d prefer that over my home email.

Re: manual logging. Just log out and next time you login chech the box again to clean up your login information.
Leonid, thanks... The workaround is noted.

Another question regarding adding links.. in the previous version.. if you click on the link icon, you get prompted for:
1. what text you're going to display
2. the url of the page you're linking to

In this version, I have been having problems linking to other pages.

If I click on the link icon, a pop-up shows up with a few options:
target (nice addition, btw), url, title, and link color.
I haven't found an automatic way of doing... I want the text of my link to say "this".

Let me see if I can illustrate clearer...

Previously.. if I click on the link icon, the url I get will look like
this is the text I want to show</ a>

However, currently the url will do something like (for the others, please pardon the lengthy HTML code):

" href="https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/forum-upgrade.20689/"> (this is the text that's shown instead) https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/forum-upgrade.20689/ </ a>

- and this without the option of asking me whether I want to show the link as is, or with a different text.

Is there a way around it, or this is by design?

Chrono, pm me your email address with an aprostophe. I''ll check out what can be done.

Leonid,

When I try to insert a link, it produces a window asking for the link ant the title. http://www.pricescope.com
The above link should have the title 'test' with the link to pricescope in a lovely pink color. 1 out of 3 seem to work happily.

Katbadness, Neil,

Re: links.

  1. Type a text that you want to link somewhere

  2. Highlight it

  3. Click on the link icon

  4. Specify the URL (you don't have to feel the Title)

  5. Click Insert

A bit weird - I agree. Will try to figure out whether it can be improved
