I am with a few of the others - I use Safari on the Mac and I am not getting all the formating and hyperlink tools I should when repsonding or posting a message.

Everything worked perfectly before.

Luckily - I have VirtualPC with Windows and IE on my Mac as well.

But would like to see you get the revised forum 100% compatible with Safari like it was before.

Im having the same problem only im on a Mac using Mozilla. Also the only way to include pictures is to attach them. No rich text available. But here is a pic of how the screen looks on the mac if our descriptions arent helping.

I can live with it either way but the old one was easier for people who choose not to use IE.
IE is losing market share Iv set up firefox for several dozen people in the last month.

Just IMHO here...
It takes users a bit of time to get used to do things in the new way...

And in while they try to figure out how to do things, complains may be directed your way..

In any case.. I''m an IE user... I personally like this upgrade. All the concerns I have had are addressed, and I haven''t had any major difficulty in posting/editing/uploading, etc. However, I don''t know how it is for the non-IE users.

Without knowing where you are at this upgrade process, my inclination is to request that you leave it a couple more days, and to see what the feedback is thus far. But maybe you''re already at that place where you have enough feedback to warrant either rolling back or keeping this new update.

It''s your call... and either way it goes, thanks for at least letting us test this version.

I''m sympathetic to storm''s recent post...maybe give it a little longer for further opinion? But, again, I''m not sure how substantive the IE/non-IE user issue is; I use IE.

Two other related things:

- regarding creating a link, I had finally learned to do it in the prior iteration of this system, but still had regarded it as something of an ordeal, or at least tedious. Having found the "link" icon (and after having read your instructions on using it), I do find this less onerous, and expect newer users may use the feature more readily.

- I also at least mildly miss the feature under "Profiles," where you can separately see only those posts originated by the author, vs. every post of the author.

Most importantly, your continued interest in improving the quality of life for the user is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot guys for you patience and testing this new version. Next week I''ll try to restore "last posts by user" function and see whether we could show old editor control for non-IE browsers and non-Windows OS.

I figured out the new editor is too sensitive e.g. I don''t hae problems with links but do have problems with uploading images (that''s why I disabled it for a while).

I like Firefox too. Anybody knows good rich text editor for Mozilla?

Try this one: FreeTextBox. It should work for IE and Mozilla but doesn't work with Opera

Well, I don''t know what happened; but, I am able to post again. I did install the new version of AOL & was able to post. But, I am on my old version now & I am able to post.

I have no idea what''s up. I truly am "machine challenged".

Also, I don''t see any new smilies except the old one''s below.

I am experimenting.
I have had bad luck adding images - the 50kb limit is bad.
I am away and using a dial up - it is slow and sometimes takes 5 minutes to open the hyperlink box - and the picture box on the right opens quickly - but the add picture from browsing takes ages to open.
When these things are still opening you can not do anything - every time you try it just makes a Donk sound. You can not even close down the window.
now tring to add pictures from url screen.

OK, copied this by clicking on another window, going to properties and copying the url info from properties. You guys can probably tell me a better way?
In 3 minutes the brouse on my own system window did not open up?
Now will try to post a picture from "attach file" on top left.
So far so good - I see that now has a 100kb and not 50 kb file limit thanks Leonid
But after attaching images I took from a Mustang last weekend, it still says None after the Attach comments? So we will see if there is an ariel set of 4 photo''s?

Edited later - no image came up, so now trying the picture icon on the top right.

Well after 4 minutes I had no option to browse open in the lower right corner.
I played with the border stuff - and that did seem to be working - but could not put an image in unless it was stored on a website.


Just ried again and inserted nothing - got the funny little box with a red square, green circle and blue triangle on my screen here.
And now the picture icon will not open again - just goes Donk
Same for the smiley face next to it
whooopee do - the picture icon thingy finally opened and I managed this red box using border stuff

more - it finally opened too and here it is - well these 2 posts have taken 25 minutes on a dial up - very very slow.

I am doing the attach file button on the left. I browse and pick my picture and then upload. Then it comes back with URL error. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. What the heck am I doing wrong!!!

7/1 - When i was using my Mac over the weekend (which i think you are on right?) i had issues with the attach file button. The first time i would click i had to wait a crazy long time only to get that URL message you were talking about. I also never got the option to browse for my file in that window that popped up. If i closed or canceled that and hit the attach button again, waited a while again, i was then able to upload my file. So just try it a second time... hope this helps you! I forgot about that problem as well, so glad you mentioned it!

I used to receive my e-mail with the name of the thread that was replied to in the mail title. Now, it just says "new post". Anyway of having it state the thread title in the email title again?

A further advisory for mac users:

When I upload a .jpg I have to make sure the letters "jpg" at the end of the file name are lower-case. Sometimes .JPG will not be accepted.

When I tried to upload it, the error note suggested that there can be a file with the same name there. It was there indeed. Maybe you doubled clicked it? I deleted it manually from the server and uploaded again without any problem

Are the pages shorter...not when you are in a message, but at the front screen, within, say, Rocky Talky, and you open it up and see, as a default, you have 1 - 8 pages. Are there now, or recently, less posts on a page?

Maybe my imagination. Seems like the posts I recently saw are sooner gone. Maybe I''ve not logged on as frequently as I used to, is all.
