I have been reading as much as I can and am not trying to make anyone do my legwork for me I just can't help myself. To have this many trained eyes and helpful people who are willing to assist me is something I feel is a gift I need to take advantage of. First question is should I take this setting to a jeweler like Good Old Gold and have them make a similar style for me? I dont know what size the 2 smaller diamonds and the diamonds on the band are so hard for me to tell if $3800 for this setting in Platinum or $3200 in White Gold is a good price.
I am looking for a 2ct + Round center stone. This is where I really need the help, from what Ive read I want to do i color and above and Vs2 clarity and above, are my standards too low or is an i not colorless enough? I want something that performs well and not necessarily all about the size but I would be fine with a blend of both. My budget is about $17k as I am trying to stay around $20k for the setting and the stone. I am willing to drive out to GOG if someone sees a good stone on their site but also be willing to do another online option.
