Nope.
Several people, who ignored the mandatory evacuation order, met the fire crews when they arrived.
At that time only a couple houses were on fire, but it quickly spread to near a hundred.
Those jerks had NOT evacuated.
I wonder if they did something stupid that started the fire.
If so I hope the insurance investigators can prove it and nail these scofflaws to the wall.
I just spotted your response to mine, Kenny. Not sure what you meant by your 'nope.' I had meant, in the part you had bolded, that she and her building neighbors were forced to evacuate by the fire dept. at that time.
But, that picture of the houses burned, I know that neighborhood, which is about 20 blocks from my aunt's street. I've driven past it countless times. It's heartbreaking and terrible to think it may have been caused by those who stayed behind in the evacuation. At the time, I believe it was said on the news that the fire was caused by downed power lines, but I don't know what has been said or discovered since.
(I'm still upset that my aunt did not go when told to evacuate, while thankful she was forced to do so before her situation became worse. Her building is okay, but clearly, it could have ended differently.)
