I have been lusting after this band for a long time, I’ve always love the idea of eternity and they are just beautiful but they are pretty uncomfortable to wear. Since I got my five stone bezel I am leaning toward a 5/7 stone ring beucause it feel so comfortable. My questions are:
1: how differently does a 5/7 stone look from eternity in real life/ side by side?
2: do you think I should go with 5 or 7 Stones? It’s been so long I forget how big the stones are, I like this size that I tried on, but I could go a little bigger if 5 stone gives enough coverage. How would the costs compare? My size is 6.5

Thanks for reading!

It all depends on you. The main difference between an eternity and a non eternity is the ring shifting would drive me nuts. I want to see all diamond all the time if I’m wearing a diamond band. But everyone is different and if you’re not comfortable then none of it matters cause you won’t enjoy wearing it. Though I feel if you have a low profile eternity it can be made to feel comfortable on your finger.

To answer your 7 vs 5 stone question it depends on the size of the stones and you’re finger width. Also keep in mind a 5 or 7 stone can be uncomfortable too so make sure you discuss with the bench person what you want in the ring and comfort requirements. Good luck! Keep us posted and please share lots of pics :appl:

Also just wanted to add one more thought-to stop your 5 or 7 stone band from spinning maybe consider beads on the bottom or something similar. That might help stabilize it and more mimic the eternity look you love.

I used to have a .81 5 stone band that didnt give me full coverage across my 6 3/4 fingers. I decided to go up to a 7 stone 1.4 ctw so I get full coverage.
(see avatar). It looks like an eternity from the top. I dont have too much going in-between my fingers (so not bothersome). I think because of wear the
stones end in-between my fingers it seems to not spin like my 5 stone did (or maybe its just a better fitting ring). I can see the benefits of an eternity
if it spins a lot but if you get a decent 5/7/9 stone that gives you full coverage and fits well then you're good to go (problem is trying to make sure you get that).

If you have not had kids and plan on doing so, I would not recommend an eternity until after you are done with kids.

No idea of cost of french (they always seem to cost more than there equal carat counter parts).

Thanks ladies and you both have beautiful rings. I like the size that I tried on, but looks like I probably only need 6 stones to cover. Have not seen a 6 stone would there be any concern? @missy @tyty333

Odd numbers for stuff (art, flowers, nick nacks, stones) is (supposedly) aesthetically more pleasing to the eye.

Even numbered stones look off center, which is why odd numbered stones are more typical.

If you’re a 6.5, I’d recommend 7 stones or an eternity.

Once you know the mm of the top of your finger, you can easily figure out the size of stones you need whether 5 or 7 stones. I would prefer 5-7 stones over an eternity with stones of that size.

20180203_141129.jpg This is a 1ct 7 stone, size 6.5, from whiteflash. It covers nicely and is very comfortable. I had sizing beads put in the ring to help it to not spin. I wear this ring almost daily!

I love French cuts if you pick slightly smaller ones and channel set them into a band FCs become a whole lot more comfortable and wearable.....

Thanks everyone for your inputs, especially @Matthews1127 @tyty333 @ceg for taking the time showing me coverage on a 6.5 finger! I want to wear this ring as a stand alone, or possible with a future CS thin band so I am leaning towards a 5 stone. @arkieb1 could you elaborate more on potential wearability/comforts concerns? @missy @diamondseeker2006 @ringo865 I enjoy reading some many of your posts, spending too much time here on PS and dreaming :lickout: on too many projects.
