Fun: What''s one thing your bf does for you that makes you smile?

Hi Ladies!

I thought it''d be fun to have a fun thread about something your bf does for you that warms your heart.
It doesn''t need to be the big reason that you love him, but a small everyday thing that makes your life a little bit better. Guess I''m just feeling the love this morning.

Mine: Before we moved in together, Kris was never someone who made the bed...just wasn''t important to him. However, now the bed gets made every day (usually I do it on weekdays because I get up later and he does it on weekends or days when he''s off work). I love that even though it''s not important to him, he does it to make me happy.

If I am at his place, he always brings me coffee in the morning. He's not a coffee drinker and I need to be up and out the door almost 2 hours earlier than he does (he has his own contracting business and doesn't need to be on jobsites until 10A or after), so I appreciate the effort for something he doesn't benefit from.

On Friday night at around 10P, we were watching something on Tru (crime TV) and I got a craving for pulled pork nachos from this little bar near his house. He got up and came back a couple minutes later, saying, "Be back in a couple minutes." And I said, "Huh?" And he said, "Well, you wanted nachos, right? I called Archie's and am going to get them." Anytime I really express a need/want for a specific kind of food -- Indian, Chinese, whatever -- he's always, like, "OK. Where do you want to go?" And the thing is, my BF and I have very different metabolisms. He's been trying to lose weight lately and is the type to gain weight by thinking about food (I love him cuddly and don't think he needs to lose anything). I can pretty much eat whatever I want. So I think it's sweet that he forgets his diet to get me what I want and doesn't accuse me of trying to sabotage.

He also will stick up for me. A couple weeks ago, I dropped off my son and my ex had a very snarfy set of comments for me. My ex is mad at me because I am getting the big tax refund this year and am not going to split it with him (why should I?!! My year to take the deduction = my $$). I was visibly upset when I got back to my BF's place. He asked me what was wrong and I told him. My ex can be really cutting in his comments. My BF said, "Where's your cell?" And I said, "In my bag -- why?" And he said, "I'm tired of (ex's name) giving you s**t all the time. It's about time I talked to him. I need his #." I told my BF that he didn't need to go there - my ex is a jerk and isn't going to change. But I thought it was very sweet in a chivalrous way that he was willing to tell my ex off.

OK, found the shower joke:

How To Shower Like a Woman
Take off clothing and place it in sectioned laundry hamper according to lights and darks. Walk to bathroom wearing long dressing gown. If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas. Look at your womanly physique in the mirror - make mental note to do more sit-ups/leg-lifts, etc. Get in the shower. Use face cloth, arm cloth, leg cloth, long loofah, wide loofah and pumice stone. Wash your hair once with cucumber and sage shampoo with 43 added vitamins. Wash your hair again to make sure it's clean. Condition your hair with grapefruit mint conditioner. Wash your face with crushed apricot facial scrub for 10 minutes until red. Wash entire rest of body with ginger nut and jaffa cake body wash. Rinse conditioner off hair. Shave armpits and legs. Turn off shower. Squeegee off all wet surfaces in shower. Spray mold spots with Tilex. Get out of shower. Dry with towel the size of a small country. Wrap hair in super absorbent towel. Return to bedroom wearing long dressing gown and towel on head. If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas.

How To Shower Like a Man
Take off clothes while sitting on the edge of the bed and leave them in a pile. Walk naked to the bathroom. If you see wife along the way, shake wiener at her making the 'woo-woo' sound. Look at your manly physique in the mirror. Admire the size of your wiener and scratch your butt. Get in the shower. Wash your face. Wash your armpits. Blow your nose in your hands and let the water rinse them off. Fart and laugh at how loud it sounds in the shower. Spend majority of time washing privates and surrounding area. Wash your butt, leaving those coarse butt hairs stuck on the soap. Wash your hair. Make a Shampoo Mohawk. Pee. Rinse off and get out of shower. Partially dry off. Fail to notice water on floor because curtain was hanging out of tub the whole time. Admire wiener size in mirror again. Leave shower curtain open, wet mat on floor, light and fan on. Return to bedroom with towel around waist. If you pass wife, pull off towel, shake wiener at her and make the 'woo-woo' sound again. Throw wet towel on bed.

I just laughed out loud! My BF does something like that, too. He's so big (the man is 6'6" and about 310#) that normal sized towels don't fit all the way around him. He will walk sideways and I'll ask him what he's doing, and he'll put on this silly face and say something like, "I don't want you to see my hiney." I've seen that hiney roughly 700 times in the last two years.....

And another time, he was danging the towel in front of himself and doing this exaggerated swishy striptease kind of dance in the hallway. Picture a guy - a macho guy's guy construction worker kind of guy - his size doing that. Waving a fluffy pink towel. The thing was - he had no idea his 19 year old son had to go into work later in the morning and was still home. So while I am standing there watching this little dance, his son walks up out of the kitchen. My BF turns around to see him, they lock eyes and his son does this mock "I am soooooo embarassed!" look with his hand over his eyes. I busted out laughing, and his son said, "Dad, you're such a freak." To which my BF ducked into the bathroom with his hand and the towel outside the door, waved the towel and said (in a falsetto voice) "I'm lettin' my freak flag fly, Sista!"

LOL! Kris is a big guy too (6'7" and about 245 pounds) but he's super affectionate and cuddly. There's something undeniably adorable about big men being sweet and gentle (and letting their freak flags fly--lol).

That's just one little thing. There are so many more I'd put you all to sleep if I listed them. Suffice to say wonderful BF thinks nothing of making a six hour round trip to drop me home sometimes and no amount of arguing with him will persuade him to just put me on the train...

ETA - I just read the shower thing, I got that before in the email, it's so true!!!

This isn''t an every day thing...but something that happened this weekend that made me go "awww"

SO and I each have our own recliner and my cat, Tela, loves to sit in them when we''re not around. Sometimes if either of us gets up to get a drink or snack she''ll steal our seat. On Saturday she stole my SO''s chair. Normally he will shoo her off the chair but she was so content looking he left her be and sat on the uncomfortable couch!

Since my SO is not a cat person his gesture made me smile.

Whoops pressed the wrong button!

Whenever we are in the car BF will always sing along to trashy slow love songs which are on Magic FM all the time. It makes me smile everytime, especially as he knows the words better than I do!!!

My FI does lots of sweet things, but this one he started early in our relationship. Both of us think the "bless you" thing when someone sneezes is really odd so I just say salud which means health and is what they say in Spain and Mexico whehn someone sneezes. My Fi doesn''t say anything to anyone but me. When I sneezes he says "kiss you" and kisses me. He even makes me keep track of my sneezes so he can make it up later., That was a pretty epic feat when I came back from China with a cold!

When anyone askes why he does it, he says, "because I love her even when she is gross and snotty".

Lately, J has been experimenting a bit with learning how to cook, and he''s been asking me what kinds of meals would appeal to me and has talking about cooking food I know he basically despises because he knows I love it.

Sometimes its the little things he does, like picking a flower for me, helping me to my truck, opening and shutting the doors for me, letting me go first...

omg when my so wants to get randy he''ll go in the bedroom and take off his clothes and climb in bed and if im watching tv or whatever, he''ll shout "sweetie, i''m naked! take it or leave it!" lol most of the time i take it haha

LOL i love this thread! my BF totally does the walk to the shower trying to hide everything....it cracks me up and I obviously chase him to try to steal the towel.

I love the funny ways to get some lovin too....we love ''Borat'' so everytime he puts on the Borat accent and says "sexy time"..its so unromantic, but so cute how he thinks its so funny

on the more cute side of things..I always go to bed much earlier than him, and would complain that I dont get my snuggle time anymore, so sure enough everynight, whenever he comes to bed and Im sleeping he comes in for the snuggle and I wake up just enough to smile and enjoy it...then pass right out again awwwww

My baby makes me sandwiches for lunch, cause I am just not a morning girl. I just love it when I am sitting there halfway through my sandwich and I look down to get the second half and I see the little love note he has written in texta on the sandwich wrap. He does this often and it really makes me smile at lunch time (and blush too cause we have a big lunchroom and I usually get a good teasing when the others see it too! )

We are both totally addicted to Tim Horton''s, so on the weekends he goes out and gets coffee for the two of us while I get ready at home (since I take so much longer to get ready). It''s a small gesture, but it''s sweet.

And he always has dinner & wine waiting for me on the evenings I drive down to see him (I drive down after work, so I don''t make it to his city til about 6 or 7pm).

I love that he'll go shoe shopping with me all the time even though he despises it and thinks "you have too many shoes and what do you need to keep looking at them for and they all look the same anyway." AND he'll hold my purse while I look at them and try them on. Then, when I find a pair that I really really want, I'll look at him with a questioning puppy-dog look and he'll sigh and say "do you need them?" If I say yes, he says I can get them. Sometimes he'll even buy them for me!

what a cute thread!My BF got me this cute Build-a-bear Bfor valentine''s day a few years back "snuggles" and we keep him on our bed when its made, with this "i love you" pillow that he holds. When BF gets up earlier than me he takes Snuggles and puts him next to me so i can cuddle with Snuggles because BF isnt there anymore. I think its really sweet

I know I already posted one thing, but here''s another -

Whenever SO and I see other peoples'' engagement rings, he whispers things to me like "your ring is so much prettier than hers" or "damn, if that was your ring I''d send it back" or "your ring sparkles a million times more than that one." This weekend we were driving back with my brother and his wife from a roadtrip, and my SIL''s ring was throwing a few sparkles on the ceiling of the car. He leaned into me and said, really really softly "see her ring making sparkles? Yours is going to have so many more than that."

He also tells me about random customers'' rings and how mine blows them out of the water.

I find it hilarious. He must be in complete love with my ring that he hasn''t let me see yet because he is ALWAYS talking about it.

I don''t even know where to start but here are 2 that always make me smile--

He always fills my gas tank for me! I never have to worry about leaving for work on an empty tank

And when we''re in long lines at Sam''s or at the pharmacy he''ll start texting me naughty things that make me blush! Then it''s just a game to see who can make the other blush more for the next few minutes

My guy gives me this look that he doesn't give to anyone else. I can't really explain it, but it happens. It's like this smile of sorts that only comes out for me. Oh, and did I mention he has the most gorgeous dark blue eyes that I have ever seen. (Literallly, I've never seen anything like it)

That look + those eyes = I melt.

He will give it to me at any random moment in time. Sometimes when we are out, and he is across the room, he looks at me like that and I always get the biggest smile on my face. Sometimes its when we are just sitting on the couch watching tv. Oh and he also knows to do this when Im mad at him too

Sorry, I can''t stop. Mine LOVES holding my hand, and he gets cranky if I joke around with him and act like I don''t want to hold his hand.

Also, he has XM radio in his car and has one of the channels pre-set to some comedy channel. He knows I really don''t like that channel, so he has started re-setting it before I get into the car to the love song channel.

OMG these are all too cute! Mine''s simple: My bf opens my pop cans for me, every single time, without asking - because he knows I don''t like to break my nails lol. So even if someone puts a pop can on the table for me, he''ll reach over and open it w/o saying a word...it''s such a simple gesture, but I love him for it.
