Is it just me, or is the color unusual?

I've seen a few like that. It's sort of like a green with grey thrown in! It may be copper bearing but not sure I'd attach the title of "paraiba" to it!

Haha I wouldn't call it a paraiba either. Its the first time I've seen a yellow-green tourm. that color.

It's rather sad, because she used to sell real paraibas at a very affordable price, but this was at least five years ago. I guess the prices are through the roof now, and the mine is drying up. Now most of what she sells is probably washed out material, irradiated, and/or clarity enhanced. I own some amazing stones from her, with GIT memos, but I haven't bought anything in a very long time. It's just too disappointing.

It also looks as though the green has been enhanced. Look at the color of the background and the tweezers.

Would look fine for a demantoid, though.

Not too shabby as a tourmaline (at least it isn't brown or has a closed axis) but calling it a Paraiba is definitely a stretch.
