So, after we have managed handshots we are working on videos.

Please give us some input on what to you like to see in a video, what to avoid or which videos you like or dislike and why?

For example, I like 20 seconds as length but perhaps I am trained to see a gem quickly?

Do you prefer a mirror or glass floor or a solid back ground on a video?

Anything that would help us work in the right direction.

Thanks

I'd probably like a longer video. It seems like it takes my eyes a little longer to process than that. I think around a minute is about the right amount of time. I think a mirror is distracting so I prefer a basic white, black or gray background. Having a hand in the shot is a nice reference to see how the lighting compares to normal conditions. I'm not a big fan of a lot of talk or music either. I think it's distracting. JMHO

Thanks.

I am looking around and having a hard time finding any videos that I like at all.

Some are too shaky, some have too strong light, or artificial light, or off angle (that is a major problem).

Can somebody point me to a good video?

Hey Ed,

I think a good video would be one that represents the stone in the best fashion.

With that being said,

Sometimes those close up videos can be a little mesmerizing and sometimes unrealistic IMO because no one will ever see the stone in that way. I think they serve their purpose to show clarity and inclusions indeed so maybe multiple videos would be best to represent the stone. I understand this takes time but I don't think you can have enough representation of something that you are selling over the internet. I understand that many have return policies but I think minimizing returns should be a bigger approach that cutters and vendors alike should learn to adopt.

I dove into internet sales of fine beauty in rare reptiles and without good photography its impossible to represent. Reptiles are not something you want to send back and forward through the mail.

I hope that gave a good insight from a buyers perspective.

For the record, you have done a great job with taking care of these areas in my eyes. Its hard to get extra photographs from online salespeople these days. Its almost as if there is something to hide. Again, thank you for your time and efforts and I hope eventually we can work something out.

Thank Ed

Respectively,

Ulysses
