hi people...

I was browsing a little while ago...on one of those mornings when the itch to ogle all things sparkly just has to be scratched...and bought a little handful of pretties!

http://www.litnon.com

I wrote Michael, to ask a question or two about one of the stones, and he answered very promptly, and was very helpful. So, order placed...I sat back and waited!

The package was a little slow in arriving, but hey, it's coming over the pond! I picked them up yesterday, and all I can say is wow! Bearing in mind this was really an inexpensive purchase, my budget being really tight for the time being (saving for the biggie later this year!) I was very very pleased with the quality of all the stones I bought.

The pictures of all 4 were very true to life, although if anything can be said on a tiny downside, it's the tourmaline that is actually slightly more peachy than pink, but absolutely beautiful even so. I will try to take some pictures to compare theirs and my colour images...but I really have not mastered really good photography skills - even with a fairly good camera!

The shield is 5.75ct...and picks up beautifully colours around it...
The trillion is 1.56ct - so sparkly - gorgeous!
The little pair are 4mm - bought 'just because'! Will be side stones one of these days!
There's another stone, but it's a synthetic - bought for its colour and shape, and although not real is beautiful.

All in all I give Michael 10/10!

congrats! they all look lovely. Your pink tourmaline is gorgeous. I considered it (then I bought its sister!! ) They're the same color roughtly, just different shapes.

My orders from Michael are usually pretty quick. Got one I purchased on Friday, received it today.

Thanks Arcadian!

I didn't realise there was a 'sister' to the tourmaline, although I think I vaguely remember seeing something, but it's hazy!

I'm visualising the large amethyst smothered in rose gold and silver...more rose than silver though! And, I know just the person to do it - hopefully the budget will allow for an addition to be added to my work order for later this year.

What have you got planned for your tourmaline?

:))

Beautiful stones pwendyp, I've also found Litnon good to work with too. The only problem for me though is thar the last time I purchased from them it took them over a week to list the stone as sold. Did you have that too? I have a feeling that I'm going to buy something one day and be told that it's already gone! ;))

Glad to hear you had a good experience with Litnon. One thing I noticed is that their website embedded contact method does not work and one does better to email them directly. In terms of looking for stone colour accuracy, the hand shots seem to fare truer to life than the tweezer pictures.

Nice stones - I love the fancy cut.

I like dealing with Michael. He has always been very straight forward with me and been very patient with my questions. He even recommended that I not buy a rather expensive stone, since he could see from my questions that it would not meet my needs.

The initial plan was to put it in a legacy style ring, but then my mom saw the stone  I sourced some small tsavorites and am having it made into a pendant for her birthday this year by a local jeweler (she can't do rings anymore, her fingers swell too much).

I can't wait to see what you do with that ammy (I totally eyed it, its really lovely) I got the purple tourmaline on Friday. I haven't taken pictures yet, but its quite nice.

....I sourced some small tsavorites....

How uncanny....truly! I have 3 weeny tsavs - 2 trillions and an oval...and I was playing with them yesterday to see how they look with the pink...not half bad! I have no idea if I can come up with a plan to use one trillion and the oval for mismatched earrings - I'm kinda wacky like that...because the trills don't match in source or colour, but the oval does match one of them. Maybe maybe! Although...my daughter has seen a picture of the stone and is loving it! Wonder where it will end up...!

I have so many ammys now - about 10 I think! Half of them are earmarked for projects later this year, and loose ideas for the others. I'm wanting to source some nice pyrope garnets in around 4mm + 6mm, and my eyes are peeled.

I also nearly bought a little pair of cobalt spinels recently, but just could not justify spending any more money. There has to be a line eh...oh why oh why does there have to be a line!!! They sold though, and now I'm kicking myself, cos I took delivery of a Mahenge from Lisa recently and I fell in love! What's the chances of coming across another set of small cobalts??!! ah well...

And, thank you everyone for the kind words on the stones... :))

I really like the tourmaline! Each time I browsed Litnon, the stones that I wanted to buy were sold!

The team at Gemline is wonderful and honest. Michael is very professional and I am very happy with their customer service.

Same with Barry at acstone, another wonderful gentleman.

Ditto, LG.

My experiences with both BB and Michael have been nothing short of absolutely great.

I (finally) bought the peridot! LOL

I echo the praise of Barry / ACS - stellar gemstones and customer service - very praise-worthy.

I respect others' satisfaction with Michael/Litnon, but wish to provide my point of view. While their gemstones are generally as advertised, I personally have found their customer service to be poor/non-responsive and I no longer choose to do business with them.
