Finally I got my camera to tow the line. We argued for a while, but here are photos of this beauty! They are pretty representative of its color(s), but no camera can catch its light. It isn't neon, but still sparkles & glows like crazy -- after dark, when I turned on a lamp, it just shines out from clear across the room where it sits by my computer. So bright, it draws the eye right to it. I think I'll kiss it.

This is so very pretty! Did you decide how you were going to set it?

I LOVE that last pic - beautiful, gorgeous color!!! Excellent find!!!!!

Well you're off to a nice start, but this is still not enough photos. I like more with leaves and flowers

and the wallner could make some guest appearances in these too, that would be nice

Yes sir. I know how to follow orders!

I'll admit that I'm a wee bit jealous and would very much like to have that stone in my possession...scheming, scheming, scheming...

Ha! Over my dead body!

Precioussssssssss....

Minous, don't do it!

So pretty! What's the specs?

So glad your camera finally decided to cooperate! :))

Then give it one for me too because it is indeed the sort of stone to fall in love with and if it's not shy about calling attention to itself, well, even better :appl:

Lovely, lovely choice JF wear it in good health!!!

Smack, smack, smack. Minou, come back to your senses!

JF,
It's gorgeous. These pictures are worth the wait.

:appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: Yay!

So gorgeous!! Your photos were worth the wait!

It just looks so luscious! The color is stunning, the cut is amazing.

This could be your favorite ring, ever. :cheeky: :cheeky:

Very nice, I am so happy you have it. :)

That's a lovely, lovely stone. I love the blue in it. :lickout:

I'm still mulling over how to set it. YG, I know. The rest is up in the air totally. Maybe a very delicate halo, maybe just itself with melee'd split shank, traps are too much, maybe baguettes. I don't want to break the bank but it does deserve something special. Hmmmm, the longer I ponder, the more I can save for the setting -- that's the upside.

Suggestions, anybody?

--- Laurie

Paved split shank would be lovely! I can also see nicely proportioned half moons for the sides, a la Leon Mege style.

You could get the look of larger sides by having three smaller diamonds triangle set (bezeled?) between pave split shanks. Semi-mount?

Thanks - don't know what came over me.

Laurie: would you mind sharing your address please?

Its almost a cliche at this point to suggest rose gold, but gah, it would be gorgeous. Actually, that stone could wear a brown paper bag and rock it (get it? Did you see what I did there? Did ya?)

+1 for pave split shank. I can see it with double claw prongs....

That last pic alone is fabulous!!! Love it!

Sure, Minou, if you'll share yours first -- I'm planning a midnight visit to your jewelry box. Could you get some coffee ready? I'll bring my own flashlight & cat-burglar-baggy.

MrsM, & Starzin, I thought about half moons or traps but this tourm keeps coming up by itself, whatever I put mentally with it. I guess it's talking to me.

I photoshopped a few ideas from my inspiration file. Included also TL's great beauty, which is close enough to imagine w/this stone. It would be yellow gold -- rose gold just doesn't go with it IRL.

Stuller

TL's

I kind of like TL's in some form, and the 2nd to last, and the last w/the split pave'd shank. We're looking at minimum $2K setting -- or a good deal more. I don't want to go that high, whimper. Have to keep cost under control, unfortunately. Any other ideas?

Gosh, that is sooooo pretty! I love that color!

Thank you, Tyty -- I'm so knocked over to have scored it, finally, after slavering over Gene's other stuff from that rough! I almost cried at the 1st stone he listed from it, for $6500, waaaay outta my league, & so perfectly beautiful.

I really REALLY love the split shank with it. Like heart beating fast love. I could also see it with a tighter 'split' , if you will, and you could tuck a slightly larger round diamond in the open section.

JF- I would like to strongly suggest you give IDJ a chance to quote on this. Their diamond quality, in their cast pieces, is exceptional. You will not be disappointed! They will pick out superior cuts, with hearts and arrows in the melee, which is so fantastically sparkly, you'll be amazed. I'm amazed how their melee is nicer than any of my other pieces, full of rainbows. None of the settings look too difficult, you should email LuAnn (Luann <[email protected]>) and have her quote, it will only take her a day or two to get back to you. They set my sapphire (and another piece that I will reveal soon :naughty: ) with claw prongs and I was very pleased. I believe you could squeeze that into a stock 8 x 10 setting.

This is a link to the supplier that they used for my sapphire: http://www.uniquesettings.com/

Here's one close to what one that you have: http://www.uniquesettings.com/products/show/3187?from_style=1 They can of course make it in yellow gold with claws.

I was wondering the same thing. It's going to make a really nice ring.

I've only purchased one thing from them but I felt they had very good customer service. They are nice people and the prices and jewelry are excellent.

I really like the one ILander linked to (in YG of course) but I really also like the one with two small diamonds either side that you posted. Very different and simple but lovely. Do you really want a halo?

And - err- thanks for making me slobber over TL's ring again. Another I never get tired of seeing.
