Ok, here are the stats I got on a diamond today from a wholesale dealer near my town. Unfortunately, the diamond is overseas and I highly doubt I could get an Ideal-Scope image. The HCA is a 0.8, but I would really appreciate some of the "experts" here taking a look at this for me :). I was concerned that the HCA was only "very good" for the spread..will this be an issue? If need be, the guy I am working with on this said I could give him the exact numbers that I want for a diamond, but he doubts we could beat this price...it's 4980.00 Any help is appreciated--thanks so much! Oh, and I think the return policy is 10 days....so I'm sure I could take my Ideal-Scope and check it out once it gets to the store, if that helps any.

Measurements: 6.64-6.68 x 4.06 mm
1.09 carat
G color
SI1
Cut: EX
Polish: EX
Symmetry: EX
Fluorescence: Medium Blue
Depth: 61%
Table: 55%
Crown Angle: 33.5%
Crown Height: 14.5%
Pavilion Angle: 40.8%
Pavilion Depth: 43.0%
Star length: 50%
Lower Half: 80%
Girdle: Thin to Medium, Faceted (3.0%)
Culet: None

I forgot to add that it''s supposedly an H&A as well...but I haven''t seen those reports or anything yet

Numbers look nice.

Can''t tell H&A without a H&A viewer -or photo from one.

ditto

Hi JeBri

The diamond has potential. Also only shallower depthed stones of 60.3% get Ex for spread, this is normal and the depth is fine in this stone. Make sure the diamond is eyeclean by checking it out in away from the store lights if possible and if you could take your IS with you that would also be useful. Do you know what the grade making inclusions are that are noted on the clarity plot such as clouds, feathers etc? Just to add, anyone who sells to the public is actually a retailer, not a wholesaler, although they might refer to themselves as such.

If it matters to you that the stone is in fact a h&a, then images of both hearts and arrows would be needed.

Thanks for answering everyone! I looked at the clarity plot and it looks like there is one feather that is on the lower left side of the table, and that''s all for the clarity.

Yes, I do realize that they are a retailer, not a wholesaler, they just advertise as "wholesale", which of course, stores never really are lol :) As far as that goes, what do you all think of the price--is it competetive to internet? I originally wanted to go with the store here in my state so that I would actually see the diamond before buying, but since he is having to send off for it, I''m starting to wonder if I should just go with one of the pricescope vendors.??

One more thing--the flourescence...I''ve read that it shouldn''t effect the diamond but I''ve never seen it IRL, so I have no idea what medium blue flourescence does. Is that a turn-off point?

Thanks so much to everyone!

Price compares well to online prices.

Fluor, personal preference. As long as it is not an overblue, very small percentage, where the stone becomes oily/hazy in the sun, will not affect performance. MB fluor, most of the time you will not notice it.

Fluorescence is rarely an issue, occasionally strong or very strong blue can cause a diamond to look cloudy in some lights but this is rare and a trusted vendor will be able to advise. Medium blue fluorescence should not cause any problems, read more from the Pricescope Tutorial concerning fluorescence here.
