He''s outgrowing his baby bath tub. I found this indispensable with my second child. I sure wish I had had it with my first. It''s an inflatable baby bathtub. It goes right in the big bath tub. Here''s a link to one site where I found it. It is not the EXACT same tub, but it looks really similar, and that was 6 years ago when I got it.
If you go with toys, the Learning Curve toys are great, and I''d go with the 6-12 month age because by the time the new year rolls around, he''ll be ready for those.
This is a fantastic mobile if they don''t already have it. Its really good for visual development. Even though it''s recommended for birth to 5 mos., it''s actually useful for the entire 1st year. Babies are captivated by the graphics!
sounds really practical, but if your sis lives in a cold(er) climate, the prince lionheart diaper wipe warmer was awesome with my last two little ones...keeps those wipes nice and comfortable(otherwise they can be FREEZING on baby''s bottom!) if your sis doesn''t have one yet.
also, board books are great for kids to grow into, because before you know it, he''ll be moving and grooving and discovering his own little world-i always have books easy access to my kids-my 2 year old sits and "reads" for what seems like hours...
so nice to have a little one to enjoy over the holidays-have fun being a sweet auntie
At 4 months old, and presuming basic needs are already taken care of, the baby isn''t going to appreciate tangible gifts like a 4 year old would. Instead of putting money towards an additional toy or additional clothes, have you thought about making a generous gift of savings bonds or something which can compound into something great when he heads off to college?
Bath toys are great for this age, too. Baby should begin splashing and kicking whole-heartedly and will enjoy watching toys being sloshed around the tub. Also, you can find little bath books that come with squeaky toys. Or, the bath-ball games which he''ll figure it out within the next couple months. And, any toy that you have to kick or reach for will help him get mobile.
