GOG square cushion in BGD custom ring - any experience? help

Hi there! I'm looking at getting a GOG square cushion set in a BGD custom ring. Just wondering if anyone else has done this? I'm wondering if there is anything to be wary of, or if anyone experienced any difficulty doing this. (buying the diamond from one vendor and sending it to another). I would be doing this all by mail (have GOG mail the diamond to BGD and then mailing the ring to me). If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated!

The vendors would ship securely both to each other and to you, so I don't see any issue there. I have bought from BGD many times and they have shipped via FEdEx to Australia with no issues whatsoever. I haven't sourced from another supplier to them but both names you mention are very reputable.

The first thing you need to do is contact BGD directly, and ask about their current policies regarding their custom rings using a stone that's sourced by another vendor. There's at least one vendor who modified their policies a few months ago, where they are only able to work on a custom setting if you purchase your center stone from them.

This is completely understandable when you think about how labor-intensive custom work is, so you just need to double-check with BGD and make sure that it's still an option for you. If it is, then they will walk you through the process of having your GOG stone sent their way. I personally prefer working with one vendor for everything (due to exact measurements, etc), but both of these vendors have a lot of experience and can guide you through the process seamlessly.
