I'm very excited to finally get to GOG to meet the staff and see first hand what the big deal is all about! I am in the market for a 1-1.5ct princess and Jonathan has assured me that he has a few in stock to make sure my trip from Philadelphia is not in vain. From anyone that has been there before is there anything to do or see in the area? Since I am driving 3-4 hours to get there I might as well make a day out of it.

Oh, I'm so jealous.
If you have time could you do ask to see an Octavia and a good asscher of similar weight side by side.
Tell us how they compare in various lighting conditions.

I'd love to hear other impressions on this.

I guess I should re-title this : I HOPE TO MAKE IT TO Good Old Gold this Friday!

Could you keep me posted on your trip to GOG. I am quite impressed with their website/videos, but still deciding on whether or not it would be worth a trip out there...from Cleveland, OH :). Hey, sometimes you have to go that extra mile to make sure you find what you''re looking for, lol. Thanks.

What are you looking to do? Shopping? There is a big mall, "Roosevelt Field Mall" in Garden City. Restaurants and such in the area. That''s further north and a bit out of your way, but there''s enough there to keep you busy.

Not sure what else to recommend. Have you considered spending time in NYC?

Enjoy the trip. I am from LI. About 20 min from GOG. What are you interested in seeing on the Island? The Hamptons are beautiful in the summer as well as some of the state parks. There are also a lot of cute towns but best enjoyed when the weather is warmer. Let me know your thoughts and I will try and help. Also ask Jon and his staff what they would recommend. I would advise booking a hotel in the city and spending the night. Endless things to do and see in NYC.

Stop at "Nathan''s" in Oceanside. They are famous for great hotdogs.

There is a mall across Sunrise Hwy (very average mall). It is maybe 2 lights east of the light where you turn into the shopping center for GOG. I would recommend stopping for lunch at All American on Merrick Road. It is a fast-food place that has to die for burgers, onion rings, fries and milkshakes, with prices that are really cheap. If fast food is not your thing, there is a Friday''s in the same shopping center, a ton of local pizza places (Phil''s is in that shopping center) Gino''s, Pizza Bistro are other delicious options and Tai Show Sushi is nearby! Take a drive down the Wantagh Parkway to Jones Beach. No matter the weather, it is a beautiful ride.

Sorry, I was the first one to view your post. The only visible words were the title "Going to Good Old Gold on Friday". There wasn''t anything in the body. I thought you were just giving us an FYI. Plus the weather...drive safe!
