Good idea ... for the animals ... though what would be better for the animals is to not have zoos in the first place.

And yes I realize , since I keep a parrot, I'm a hypocrite.

I love it. Provides them with some entertainment. Our zoo has an elevated tiger walk area and warns that you might get wet, but not from a shower.

that's very cool

the thing with zoos is see, people are not always so thoughtful
if they can't see something they don't always care about that thing (in this case wild animals)

our zoo in Wellington raises money for conservation projects in the wild where some of their exotic animals originate like the Sumatran tiger

I do not like zoos. I feel bad for the animals and feel there is a better way to teach kids and saving endangered species. Many (most?) of the animals in zoos are depressed. They are in jail and lead a boring life devoid of enjoyment. And generally die younger than if they were in the wild. IMO zoos do more harm than good.
