Gorgeous Sunset in a Sunstone - Another Jerry Beauty!!!

You're entirely welcome and I thought someone up-thread had suggested looking at stock settings (Stuller etc) via your jeweller, just to see what they had available - however I now can't find that comment so apologies to the poster or if it was another thread.
Gah! It was me! :knockout: Have no idea why my brain wasn't working yesterday 8)

It's a pity that your jeweller doesn't work with stock settings however I'm sure you'll be able to work something out together.

Such a clever FI

No worries - I thought it might have been you, but I didn't go back to check ;-) I'm excited to take the stone in and really like that it won't be a stock setting because everything that I've brought to him turns out more beautifully, elegant, sturdy than I ever conceived of at the outset, so it's a win, even if it's not the most cost-effective :-)

FI was quite clever - I feel very lucky to have someone who cares enough to go to such trouble for a birthday surprise! It's a major thank you to Jerry as well for being such a good sport and playing along!

I'm so excited! I just dropped off the sunstone with my jeweler to make a custom pendant! I should receive CADs sometime next week, but for now, we're thinking clean lines, modern - single prongs in the corners of the stone & simple loop on top - the tricky part is going to be creating a basket, for lack of better words, around the bottom of the stone's deep pavilion (10mm), so that it lays flat... fun kind of challenge to have :-)

Right now, the pendant will be done in 14k yellow gold, so if you guys think platinum or rose gold instead - please tell me! The rationale I have for going yellow is to complement the warm & golden tones without over-emphasizing the green or clashing with some of the reds/pinks that the stone shows. If it had more cooler colors, I'd go platinum, and if it were a ring, I'd pick yellow gold prongs with a platinum shank. Any and all thoughts are welcome - I always appreciate your opinions!

I'll certainly post CADs as soon as I have them to get all of your thoughts!
