I got my dress this weekend. It''s gorgeous and has a train and I just love it! It''s white, strapless *wasn''t planning on that!!* and it has tiny little seed beading on it. Violet flowers. I love it! Best of all, it was one of those $99 dollar sale dresses at David''s Bridal! The consultant wasn''t the most pleasant, but it was fun none the less! Eeek! I have the dress I will wear when I walk down the aisle to marry the man I adore! YAY!!!

Good for you! But you''ve been here long enough to know we need PICS...even if it''s just a stock photo...

It''s a discontinued style, the lady said it was because the sizes run really small. Tell me why I could wear a 14 in ALL the other styles I tried on, but in that one, it''s a 16. Grrr! Figures, doesn''t it? It''s David''s Bridal style number 5431. I tried to find *stock* pictures, but couldn''t. When I get my camera downloaded, I''ll try to post me in it. I''m not small, but I LOVE how it really shrinks down my waist. I LOVE it. It has to be taken in at the bust, but other than that, I should be good to go! Yay! If I happen to lose some weight, it''s a lace up back, so it can be tightened up really easily. I like that. I still have an issue with *arm fat,* so I''m going to plan on a veil that is finger tip length, so I at least feel slightly covered up. I''m also looking for the cute little hooded cap that some winter brides wear. Any ideas where I can find one that''s fur-less?

Yay!

as for the size, cut out the label! All better now?

I think a cape would be lovely! I know Nordstroms usually has them in the winter but it may not be the bargain you''ll be looking for. Froogle may help.

Oh good for you!!!! and wow- what a bargain besides- that makes it even more fun!!!

I can''t wait to see pics of you in it! And I love cape for winter brides, they''re absolutely gorgeous! Congrats!

Yayers! You sound thrilled about your new dress! Congrats on finding such a wonderful deal too.

yay! I can''t wait to see pics! I went to the sale, but they didn''t have anything I liked in my size. I definitely don''t remember seeing the one you''re describing either. It sounds beautiful

GREAT advice about cutting out the label! Mom did that for me as I just couldn''t get over that number!

Fishie- CONGRATS to you. What a relief to find "the one!" It''s beautiful!

and yeah, I too didn''t think I would go strapless...

I''m an idiot and I forgot to bring the CD of the dress pictures my aunt took, so I could use Paul''s computer to post. I''ve still not found it online, but I''ll look again today. My home internet is acting up. Argh!

Fisher,
How exciting! What a fantastic price!!! It sounds very pretty, and I can''t wait to see it. It''s good to know that there''s some good stuff at the David''s Bridal sales.

I think I''m going to ask my mom to make my cape. I want one with a hood, I think. I''ve seen a few very cute patterns. I''m thinking of doing baby, baby light violet, so close to white you can''t tell it''s not, really. I think. That or white. We''ll see.

Paul''s god father is a photographer *I never knew!!* and he has offered to do our pictures for FREE as well as GIVE US all the pictures we want afterwards! YAY!!!! I''m thrilled and crazy excited, as we thought that would be our *biggest* expense, particularly since we got such a great deal on my dress. Friends at work are trying to get me to agree that with the extra money in the budget now, we can do real flowers, but I still like the idea of making them. Once I get a practice bouquet done, I''ll post. But I like what I have so far.

I can''t believe it''s only something like three and a half months away now. Wow!

I''m getting married soon! Whoo hoo!! I can''t wait to be Paul''s wife, for life. Yay!!

Now we have the bridesmaids dresses, too. Lovely, they are, they are! I''m so, so, *so* excited! They''re tealength, silk, and have those fly away winglike things along the dress, that make it sort of staggered, or uneven along the bottom, with a lot of lace and stitching detail across the top, empire waisted, ribbon straps. Very pretty, and very good for a morning wedding. They''re made by Adrianna, whom I''ve never heard of. I got them at an outlet mall in Georgia. Guess how much they were? $25 bucks each, original suggested price was 100. Yay! I just love a deal!

And we had another session with the pastor yesterday. Such a blessing and joy.

This afternoon, Paul and I are making cookies for the *good* classes Paul has, in hopes more will follow. Heehee. He''s really liking this new school this year lots better than the previous school, though.

Anyway, that''s our update. My dad is having surgery on Wednesday and I''m flying home on Saturday to spend time with him and hopefully get the junior bridesmaid dresses worked out, and the flower girls. Most of the work is done now, and I''m excited. Well, not most, but I feel like we''ve come a good bit of the way.

Pray for my daddy, if you don''t mind.

Thanks! Happy engagement time, everyone!!

Congrats on getting so much done. The dresses sound gorgeous. I can''t wait to see pics. I will def pray for your father. My mom is in the hospital right now so I really know how you feel.

Aww, Fisher, so good to hear that you found your dress and the bridesmaids dresses! You found some great deals and prove that a wedding does not have to cost a fortune! Have a safe trip and I''ll pray for your Dad as well!

Thank you, guys. My dad is in surgery now, and being so far away from him is hard, but I''ll be home this weekend, just in time for his discharge from the hospital. He doesn''t know I''m coming, so it will be a good surprise for him.

The dresses are lovely, and I hope that I''ll be able to download pictures from my parents'' house. I have issues on my own. Grr!

Thank you for the prayers. I''m trusting that he''s fine, and that he''ll recover well. And I HOPE that he''ll be less grumpy than Mom and I are anticipating.

My dad came through the surgery just fine, but he''s not really loving the whole therapy thing, so Mom and I have been trying to *gently* remind him of the importance of stretching his leg out straight and all that fun, painful stuff.

Tried my dress on for them last night. Mom cried. Dad said I was as pretty as Mom was on their wedding day. Aww. Sweet!

While I''m in the state, two of my bridesmaids are going to try on the dresses I bought. They''re definitely NOT winter dresses, but I''m thinking of making silvery sheer wraps for them, which I think would look smashing good with the lavendar, then to have the junior bridesmaids wear silver dresses with lavendar wraps. We shall see, we shall see.

I''m still trying to figure out how to get pictures from the CD to this computer, to this page. Mom got the dress to lace all the way last night, and gosh, it looked SO pretty. Yay!!

I think I figured out how to post from my parents'' computer. Okay, not the best picture of me *I look hung over drunk* and I had the dress hiked up too high, trying to get the bust to fit right (didn''t happen, will have to be taken in), but it''s the dress, none the less. And I am so loving it!! Especially since last night when my mom laced it up all the way and it fit SO, so, *SO* good!

Here''s hoping this works...

Darn. No such luck. It says it can''t find the server. I don''t know why I used to be able to do it just fine, and now I can''t. Grrr!

You can send your pics to admin and they can post them for you.

I can''t wait to see it!

So, I had what I *think* was a brilliant idea, and I''m going to try it. Maybe I can just send the picture directly from the CD drive, and that will work? I don''t know. Then I thought maybe I can try to figure out my parents'' scanner. It''s worlds different from mine, though. Hmm. At least I have a couple plans now.

*I started on the pill yesterday.* I don''t feel sick yet. Yay! I''ve not been a ball of moodiness, either. Big YAY for that.

My daddy is doing WONDERFULLY well and is even VOLUNTEERING to do his therapy on the machine. He rocks. Apparently, if you don''t hound him, you really do get better results. Yippeee!!

We went looking for dresses for the little girls yesterday. I saw one I liked a lot and we may end up ordering them, but we''ll have to see what else is out there. I''m trying to decide, if the BM dresses are tea length, does that mean all other dresses *other than mine* have to be tea length, too? Like the Jr. BMs? And the flower girls? Just wondering. I''m not really all that fashion-sensible.

You can attach pictures directly from a CD.. yes.. I did that with my wedding pics.. Now hurry up and show the dress! :-D

Glad to hear you dad is doing well..

How do I do that? I tried the "message Admin" button, but I don''t think there''s a way to include the picture in that message.

I tried doing it from the CD, scanning it and doing it from Paint, and using a zip file. Every time I get a message saying the site is not responding, or that it cannot be displayed.

Completely confused.

It''s pretty much a standard dress. But I would like to show it.

Just press the attach file button on the post.. then when the window pops up, press browse and find the picture on your CD. You don''t want to make it a zip file.. Use jpg or gif.. you just have to make sure it is under 100K

It''s a lot bigger than allowed. How do I shrink the size down, without doing the Paint thing? That''s the only way I know of to shrink a picture.

I emailed it to the administrator. Maybe they can figure out what I was doing wrong.

here you go, not the best resolution though, if you have any other don''t hesitate to send them to me

Yay! Its very pretty.. Simple, yet bridal.. And you look great in it! My friend just wore a wedding dress that had that sweepy layer to it.. I like it!

Very pretty, Fischie!

But I do have to ask, what were you doing with your hands??? Hehe, just joking with you. I wore a dress very similar to yours and I remember when I first tried it on. I have a pic that looks very much like yours. I was thinking something like "will the girls be OK?"
