Great experience with a B&M store (Shane CO) and this forum

I posted ten days ago regarding my engagement ring on this thread:

As you can read, I was pretty upset. My YG setting prong broke, and my diamond fell out. In the pre-holiday crush at the store, we had a hard time getting accurate information about the diamond warranty and how to proceed.

I returned home, did some online research, and posted here. I got a TON of good advice from the Pricescope contributors, and learned a great deal about diamonds and settings and their care.

A Shane CO rep also read the thread and offered assistance via this forum. I contacted him, and we returned back to the Shane CO store, where we were given excellent advice and a beautiful replacement stone.

Thank you to all of you! Now, time for a long winters nap!

Good on Shane Co. for taking care of this.

I was just having a conversation with my Dad about buying a diamond online vs. in store. I pointed out that the availbility of information on forums these days really make the online businesses accountable for their customer service, more so than even B&M businesses, which is why I actually prefer buying online. It's good to see that the larger B&M retailers like Shane Co. are actually participating in the online discussion.

Yes indeed, it worked out just amazing in the end, didn't it??? So glad for you SnowKat! And I had no idea there was a Shane & Co rep on PS who was dedicated to monitor the threads and pop in! That was very impressive - kudo's to them!
