At long last my grey heart diamond is set! However, can I get a good photo of it? No!!!!! I tried my best but curiously this little diamond performs far better in the grey daylight of the UK than the warmer daylight of the Med! You'll have to trust me when I say that it has great dispersion (I promise!).

The setting was from LOGR and a few of the diamonds are less than perfect AND the basket was made too big but my jeweller did his best. As this is a pendant I'm not too fussed because nobody (apart from my husband  ) is likely to get that close to inspect it properly!

Hope you like it.

That turned out great! Lovely setting for that fancy diamond! Enjoy it!

Just send it to me and I'll be able to see this dispersion you mentioned. :naughty:

I love it! Congrats!

It looks lovely! How will you wear it? I don't know if you're into this sort of thing, but I can see you stringing it on a simple black cord and having it completely stand out...

The diamond is such a little chameleon tease! :Up_to_something:

How pretty is that! Lovely pendant.

What a lovely setting for your gray diamond! Neck shot?

actually, the setting is nice, too, but the diamond is lovely!

Beautiful ! Liz Taylor would be envious !

I love the symmetry and 3-dimensional look of the piece. Your grey diamond looks lovely in there.

Wow! It's beautiful

Wow that is so neat! I love it!

Whoever said Elizabeth Taylor would be jealous was right!

It's so lovely that I'd wear it with everything (even blue jeans). Just beautiful!

LD,

I know I said I wouldn't reply to your postings, but curiosity won again. Though diamonds are my birthstone, I've never had much interest in them, so I've never bothered to learn anything about the rarity of various colors. I assume that gray is NOT a common color for diamonds. Are there varying shades within that color? What drew you to the particular stone you chose? As with all gemstones, clarity, I suppose is a heavily contributing factor in judging gray diamonds. Is your stone considered dark, light or somewhere in mid-spectrum?

It looks as if the design of the pendant was well realized. The other diamonds appear to be well-matched.

Always curious and willing to learn,
Still Not Steve

I like the third photo, maybe the pendant need to be photographed in the southern hemisphere to show its true potential, just mail it to me. :appl:
