Guess the specs of my diamond! Size 4 finger, may have been swollen from the bath though.

These types of threads aren't popular because there really is no way to tell the carat size since we don't know the depth, and obviously color and clarity just from a tiny photo like this. Also, the ring holder places the diamond really high off your finger, so it's also going to look larger from this viewpoint. It'd be easier to guess diameter if you had it placed directly on the 'crack' between your fingers.

Yeah.. It's almost like a "guess my weight!" thread. All answers are either going to over inflate and compliment or risk an insult. Since posters here don't want to be rude, everyone will just over inflate and compliment. It goes nowhere.

Why not just tell us the specs? And share more photos?

It would be a lot easier if your photo was to scale. Your size 4 finger has been blown up to look larger and so has the stone... I put my size 4.50 to 4.75 finger over it on my screen and your fingers looked much larger than mine so it's obviously an enlarged pic. The stone is half of a sized 4 finger roughly - it looks smaller than a 1 carat so I will say between .60 and .80 carats...

I think OPs can sometimes set themselves up with these type threads. If someone says it's larger, the OP is happy, but if the poster guesses it's much smaller, the OP gets insulted and goes on the defensive.

It's much more fun for everyone involved if you simply disclose the specs and let us "ooooh & aaaahhh" over it.

Oh, I don't know - I enjoy these guessing games!

I think this is about 0.80 I colour. I can't take a guess at clarity as you need a loupe for that anyway. It looks eyeclean though.

I think it's fun to guess size! If the OP ends up offended, that's sort of on them, no? I'd guess .75, though I agree that stone holder isn't the best way to view it. The holder is so high that the stone is substantially closer to the camera than your finger, so with the finger in the background and the stone in the foreground, the perspective isn't really true to life. I can't really guess color face up from the one pic (I'm not a pro) and all I can really guess for clarity is that it's probably better than I1.

So spill!!

I agree, what's the harm? I'm sure the OP understands that there are going to be guesses below, as well as above, her diamond's actual carat weight... which of course, comes with the territory. If she is that easily offended I doubt she would have posted in the first place. Lighten up, kids!
