If we could please think critically- there have NEVER been this many disruptive moves by an administration for 250 years.

I always wonder of
Thanks tiger. I appreciate the dialog. Apologies if my wording was strong. The situation kind of makes it difficult to describe without that word.
Banning a news organization because they won’t call a body of water a new name.
Naming one’s self the chairman of a national cultural arts organization
Threatening allies in a public and humiliating manner.
Breaking well established trade treaties
Installing heads of agencies based on loyalty as opposed to expertise
It’s really hard to ignore these and many other moves
I don’t know of “softer” words to describe this sort of flurry of activity.
If you listened to Musk speak, he openly admitted lying about the condoms. Ooops.
I guess from my perspective, allowing Musk unfettered access to our government and its systems…… that in itself seems anti democratic.
If you read any international news- or a broad swath of domestic news- the US is now considered a rougue state. Threatening its neighbors.
How is it ok for America to suggest Canada becomes the 51st state ??? Jokes have a place. This is not one of them.

If there was a love button I would choose that! Thank you for all of that. It was enlightening to how you think. I agree with you on some points too, but not all.
1. It’s semantics, but AP was not banned just from not using the right terminology, they were banned because they are violating an executive order.
2. I’m not really sure what Musk’s role is either but maybe it will be a change from the status quo of so much waste. We got to do something, but not sure I love this idea either.
3. Another point you made before, about not having this much turmoil in 250 years. I think that it’s too easy for us to say that since this is all we know. But I think we have always had heated debates in our country with charged ideas. Look at the Civil War for example. Or the periods of political crisis, Nixon, and there have also been deep disagreements. The beauty is that we still struggle through them, and allow change through our struggles.
4. The last thing I will comment on is my favorite part of your post: that the other countries think we are now a “rogue” country! Of course we are! We have always been rogue and proud of it!!! We first threw off the mantle of oppression and chartered our own course with the Revolution. We don’t listen to a king or dictator but by an elected official (yes, he was voted in by the will of the majority of people).

The American spirit is one of rugged individualism.

Closing this thread folks, people cannot stop bringing politicians and mudslinging into it. I'm done. Follow the rules.
