Awww, Gypsy, thank you so much! Your post brought tears to my eyes. My FIL is doing much better today, still in ICU but they''ve taken him off the respirator and he''s breathing on his own. He should be moved to a regular room by tomorrow thank goodness. He''s pretty depressed right now which is worrying the doctors but hopefully getting out of ICU will help. He''s also sad because he''s going to have to spend his 81st birthday in the hospital. It''s on Friday. We have a little surprise birthday party planned for him so hopefully that will help him cheer up!

What kind of heart procedure are you having? Is there a thread about it somewhere?
I don''t want to threadjack this thread, but I would like to follow your story and that of your father-in-law somewhere.

You''re so sweet Deb, to want to follow my issues! The simplified version is that I had a mini-stroke on February 20th and was in the hospital for several days. Since I have absolutely no health problems they were stumped until a wonderful neurologist figured it out. I have a hole in my heart called a PFO and I also have an ASA or Atrial Septal Aneurism. Fancy name for Floppy wall between my heart chambers. I am currently on what I call "stroke watch" until I can have the hole closed. Without the closure I am at high risk for another stroke at any time. This closure procedure is fairly new and the device I am having implanted was only FDA approved in October which makes it doubly scarey as there are no long term studies to go by. I don''t have a separate one for my FIL either. I thought that I might start a thread on the 27th asking for some PS dust to get me through the closure procedure on the 28th. Every bit of positive energy helps!

HUGS Gypsy girl! Last time I was really active on PS your mom was going through the first bout of surgery. Good on John. I know what you mean re: the weight, depression, and the family, I have a friend with very similar issues to yours. One step at a time, and sufficient unto the day is the evil therof, eh?
