Hi everyone!

I''m fairly new and in need of your expert opinion. I have a .504 AGS000 RB solitaire in a cathedral setting whose shank is 2.5 - 3.0 mm. I am planning to get a half-eternity band from Signed Pieces but can''t decide on the size of the diamonds. I went to many B&M''s to try half-eternity bands for size and found that eleven .045 to .05 pointers matched my ring well, but I''d like to go bigger. This ring is an "update" of my old w-ring which is .31 ctw/7 stones = .04, so I wanted something bigger for a change (read my full story about my old rings here - scroll down to the bottom). I also tried on some 10 pointers and thought they looked great (especially if I want to the w-ring alone, which I''m planning to) - very pretty, but my solitaire seemed to "blend" in with the set. I thought 7 pointers would be a good compromise. I also want the look of full eternity and want the stones to come all the way down to the sides of my finger. I wear a 4.5 so it won''t take a lot of stones to go down half-way around.

For half- or full-eternity band owners: Do the stones between your fingers irritate your skin?

Please post pictures of 7 pointer half-eternity bands paired with under 1 ct. stones if you have any!

I''m looking at .75/11 stones =0.069 (2.8 mm wide and 2.1 mm thick). The band should come <2.5 mm thick to fit under the surprise diamond on my e-ring setting. Here is the link to SP: http://www.signedpieces.com/item.cfm?item_id=3783

The manager at SP suggested I go with 0.59 ctw/ 11 = .054 (2.6 mm) ... It sounds good, but I want more bling. :)

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks in advance!

Jenniegirml,
Unfortunately, I am going to have to agree with SP on the size of the diamonds in the band. I wear a band of 7 pointers together with my 3/4 ct solitaire and they look just right (to me anyway). I am concerned that the 7 pointers will overpower your center diamond. Sadly, I haven''t any pictures to post.

I am going to agree that 7 pointers would probably over power your e-ring. I have an eternity band of 8 pointers (the stones inbetween my fingers don''t bug me) and my e-ring has a 2.07 center stone w/ 3 side stones on each side 2 .15''s and 1 .10 on either side- you can barely see the difference between the .10s and the .08s in my w-band.
This all being said I do wear a very thing (1.5mm or so) platinum band between w-band and e-ring and I think this helps prevent it looking like one big blob.

I too think that 7 pointers with a half carat stone would be overpowering to your engagement ring.

I agree, however if you tried it on and liked it then it might work for you.

I just received my full eternity band from sp and the stones don''t bother my fingers at all. Can''t tell you much about size, although I decided to go with a .79 tcw that measures 2.1mm and I love how delicate it looks while still packing a punch. Hope this helps!

I actually had a 3 stone ring made using .07 side stones. My center diamond is .42 I think using .07 would be too big. My band from SP are .04 Here''s what it looks like.

Oooh, what a pretty set Gothgrrl! I want a 3-stone someday. The .04''s look big on your band too. I don''t know why they look "small" to me when I tried on a band at the B&M store. I think because my e-ring shank is 3 mm thick. I brought my husband in with me and tried the .045 and .10''s on... we actually liked the .10''s because of all the sparkle going on! I found that it didn''t make my center stone stand out though - it just blended in. I think I like the look probably also because .10''s are 3 mm thick, like my shank. Aargh... I know everyone says the .07''s are too big... but now I like the .10''s.... I''ve seen that most PS''ers witrh 1.00 ct stones are getting .02-.03''s...what''s wrong with me?

Your setting is great! Who makes it? Re the wb, I bet the ideal cut stones from sp will look bigger than the ones you saw in the store!

Gothgirl, I love your rings.

If you like the .10 pointers, you should get what you like. I don''t know if there is anything in between. Maybe you can find .05 or .06? How about .09 or .08? Good luck on finding the right size!

You mentioned that you would like to wear your band alone sometimes. 7 pointers would be great for that. However, I think that 7 pointers with a half carat would look too big. Have you considered wearing them on opposite hands? That would be a very lovely look.

I have the Signed Pieces 11 stone/ .60 half eternity (.05 pointers). My solitaire is .75 in a setting similar to yours so that the width of the band pretty much matches the width of the diamonds. I wouldn''t go any larger in proportion to my stone size - the sparkle and brightness of Signed Pieces diamonds are outstanding and the .05 pointers give off plenty of bling - probably a lot more than the .04 pointers you are wearing now. I usually wear them on separate hands, and the Signed Pieces band stands well on its own.

I just took a picture of my rings together - now I will figure out how to get them on here with the help of my daughter later today - I''m technically challenged! My solitaire is set in the Vatche Royal X-prong which has a similar look to yours.

Hi Jen - My camera card doesn''t work with my laptop - I have to find either another camera or a cable. I will hopefully get this accomplished today and post pictures! Anyway, I am so impressed with the quality of my Signed Pieces ring and I get lots of compliments on it. It''s also very comfortable!

Hopefully, this picture will attach and be good - I''m still learning this stuff! This is .60 Signed Pieces 11 stone with a .75 solitaire. I will attempt to get a better picture now that I''m learning.

Oh Tulip, your rings are absolutely gorgeous! Now I wish I had a 75-pointer stone! What size rings do you wear? It seems like the stones of your SP band goes down to the sides of your finger. That''s how I''d like it to be. Does that bother you at all? What''s the width of your SP band and your e-ring shank? Sorry... too many questions!

I really appreciate you taking the time to upload those pics.

What can I say Molly1024, just b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! Your center stone looks like a 1.something carat! Are your side stones shared prong?

I''m so glad you''re interested in this, because I am too. I''ve done so many searches and have gone to stores etc and just am trying to figure out what size melee is best... I do have an anniversary band with 10 5pointers so I know they''re too large... but I wish there was a photo out there like the one with the 4 solitares on one finger so you can see different sized stones, but with like six bands so you can see .5 pointers, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, and 4 pointers lol

Jenniegirlm, my ring has 9 stones. It is half eternity. I spun the ring around, just to see what an eternity would feel like. It actually feels fine. But then agian, the stones are only .04 each. Hope that helps.

Thanks so much- the jeweler described them as bead set- they are pretty much surrounded by metal on all sides so they''re in there pretty good.

I so did not realize you wanted WB pictures for estimation; here''s my half eternity band with 2 pointers (I think):

47b6d720b3127cce8c82f38c0fca00000016102BYuGTZwyYw

The stones in the band are just slightly larger than the ones in my e-ring- the e-ring band is 2mm and the WB is 2.3 which helps make the stone look a little bigger.
