Halo vs no halo

I think for me it depends on the size of the center stone compared to the size of the melee in the halo. Tiny center stones get lost in halos (especially with stock settings) to my eye, and end up looking like cluster rings. Whereas larger stones with delicate melee around the outside (like many of the custom designed rings seen here on PS) look beautiful and proportionate to me, and highlight rather than detract from the center stone.

I have a haloed cushion, but i’ve often thought about resetting it with a thick bezel (this is what happens when you see so many rings on PS)! I feel like a thick bezel has the size-enlarging effect of a halo, but with a simplicity that the halo wouldn’t have. you could check out the jin by erika winters or the cori by single stone?

I’m just torn, so wanted opinions. I’ve googled images of both, and I love both lol.

I vote no halo personally but either way they both look stunning!!
