I love the look of hand engraving on rings. I usually wear white gold and I frequently need to have my rings redipped in white rhodium. Is it a bad idea to have hand engraving done on white gold because of the risk of losing the look when it is dipped?

I''m assuming plantinum would be a better option, but I love bright white metals.

dipping is electro-plating, only a few micron thick of metal is deposited on the ring, will not in anyway cover the engraving.

Thanks! I was worried that buffing the ring might damage the engraving. I hoped that wouldn''t be the case, since white gold is less expensive than platinum.
