That turned out awesome!!!

I skimmed through your other thread, but didn''t see... is that a celon sapphire, or is that just a regular sapphire that''s THAT clear???!!

LT, yes it is a ceylon.

thank you for the wonderful comments everyone!

She said YES!!!

Here's the hand pix as requested on my original thread.

Thanks again to everyone who helped me with some priceless advice :)

Congratulations kneeling08!

Can you give us the specs on this stone? Size?? Where did the setting come from? (ETA - sorry, I just realized it's Verragio...duh)

It turned out beautifully.

(BTW, I believe I'm now the lucky owner of the round Sapphire Jeff White sent to you for a looksee....). Do you mind my asking: How does Jeff's sapphire compare colourwise to the one you ended up with? I'm curious to know how vivid the blue is in comparison to your FI's (whose ring and stone is stunning! by the way).

My FI took the appraisal which had the specs so off the top of my head: the sapphire is around the same carat size as the one you''re getting at 2.03. The measurements are not as even at 7.3mm x 7.4mm.

Colour wise it is very close. I actually had the chance to hold them up side by side and the tone and color were very similar. The pictures you''ve seen do not do that blue justice... it is spectacular when you hold it up in any light. I must have seen/memo''d at least 30 round sapphires in the process and Jeff''s and the one my FI ended up with (toot toot) are very superior in color.

I will also say that the one you will have has very even color distribution. Any angle you look at it returns the same color. It also has a slight glow to it which i hear is indicative of an untreated sapphire.

The setting is platinum with .52ctw diamond sidestones and pave/melee.

I think you will be very very very happy with Jeff''s stone. The only reason i did not settle on it was because my local jeweler gave me a great packaged deal with the verragio setting. If I had the money I would have kept both stones in a heartbeat because of the rarity of an untreated stone with that kind of color and clarity.

Congratulations! You won''t be disappointed. That Leon Mage you are considering will definitely give that sapphire a proper home.

Let me know what you think when you get it! I''m willing to bet you''ll have to change your moniker to FoundSapphire.

-ps. You are very lucky that stone is not 3 carats. My future mother in law almost didn''t let me return it because she was eyeing it for herself lol!

Thank you Kneeling 08!!

That is such a positive commentary! I appreciate your taking the time to answer my questions.

Your ring turned out beautifully, and that colour is TDF! (wow and it sounds like my stone may be just as stunning!).

Sorry about your mother in law. She''ll have to get back in line for a bigger stone! Please pass on my thanks to her!

Perfect combination. I love how the Verragio styles have those cool galleries. So much detail. Congrats on a beautiful ring!

Oh man! Good call! I love Verragio rings and the sapphire in it is just stunning!!

Sooo beautiful! Congratulations!

Your ring is lovely - especially the side view which shows a glow emanating(sp?) from within that gorgeous blue pool. One of the pharmacists I work with has a 3 stone ring of similar style with a round diamond (approx. 0.75-1 carat) in the middle and smaller round blue sapphires flanking the sides. Her ring gives an impression of high-end quality although I''ve never asked her anything about it. Put together high quality stones and setting in a classic style and tasteful size, and you''ve got a ring to be proud of! Great choices on this one!

that is amazing! Congratulations!!!!

That color of sapphire is really stunning. I''ll bet she gets a lot of compliments on this ring. It really is beautiful.

HI:

Your hands are so beautiful!!! Oh and love your ring too....
