I love the flower and fire shots. :) Very nice setting! It really does look delicate.

Just gorgeous, I love the flower shots. Congratulations on your upgrade, enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone! Any suggestions for a wedding band? The matching D'Vatche weddings are a 3 mm plain platinum band or a 3 mm band with .81 ctw. of pave. But I'm not sure if I want that much pave with a .53 ct. stone! The D'Vatche Tiffany-style Etoile band is lovely, but it's 4 mm. and I haven't got long fingers! Thoughts???

Dang -- the system didn't like my photos. I'll upload them.

D''Vatche Royal Empress pave
sarap - i LOVE your ring. just love it.

and i think the d''vatche royal empress pave with it would be KILLER. i just LOVE medium solitaires with pave - they just look like they were made for each other (speaking as a medium sized ring owner who would dearly love a pave band to go with it!!)

how wide is the d''vatche band you posted? is that the 3mm one you referred to? also - if it has .83ct of pave, half of it wont even be seen at any one time, so it''s not going to overpower your engagement ring. in fact, i think the balance would be perfect.

anyway, just wanted to tell you i think you have a beautiful ring there, and the fire shots are incredible!

congratulations :)

(and do NOT disappear, now that you have your engagement ring - ''normal life'' is considerably overrated :) )

Beautiful stone...and I love the brushed finished you did on the metal. I vote for the etoile wedding band. I think
they would compliment each other nicely and sort of keep the modern feel. Can someone do the etoile in the
same finish as your engagement ring? Thats my vote! Keep us posted!

Thanks, Whitby!! I loved your comment about normal life being overrated -- yeah, it sure is, compared to diamond shopping. Anyway, the Vatche pave band is just 2 mm wide. I tried on a 1.7 mm 3/4-eternity band (.30 ctw.) and it looked wonderful -- understated. What I like about the Vatche pave is that the pave is on all sides of the band, not just on the top, so it looks substantial even thought it''s only 2 mm. It''s just that .81 ctw. seems so va-voom, but you''re right, it won''t be visible from all sides. Thanks for the suggestion. I''ll be saving my pennies for that ring -- it''s about 4 grand in platinum!

You read my mind, Tyty -- I thought the etoile would keep the modern/contemporary feel. It''s not a problem to get a brushed finish. I think I might like a more narrow band -- I guess the Tiffany Bezet is only 2.5 mm.

I keep going back and forth between pave/eternity and the etoile!

oops.

Lovely photos of a lovely ring

How did you get those fire shots? I can''t do it no matter how hard I try

I vote for an etoile w-band also :) it will give your set a very classic look!

your ring is lovely, the setting is understated and delicate, and dang! that diamond does not look like a J! :D

Congratulations, and enjoy it for many many years to come!

Thanks, everyone, for your compliments!

To risingsun, to get my fire shots, I went outside in my backyard and held my camera in front of my ring and tilted the ring back and forth. When I saw fire through the camera lens, I pushed the button as quickly as possible while I kept moving the ring and pushing the button several times in rapid succession. I had to take a lot of pictures and many were blurry. A tripod would have helped.

I love your stone! It''s sooooo sparkly!!!!!

Thanks for the advice. I''ll give it a try! Your fire shots are awesome

I vote etoile too - I think it would be a kleer combo!

Congrats on your beautiful upgrade and happy anniversary! I also vote for an etoile style band with the same brushed finish as your new ring. Maybe a starlight band by Etienne Perret (http://www.starlightbands.com/)?

What a gorgeous ring!!! Such a brilliant and sparkling stone! And I love the setting, enjoy your new ring!!

Ditto! I think it would be a gorgeous compliment to your setting!

Hey, thanks everyone -- you are all so kind! I love PS!!!!

I have always liked the etoile band and after trying on a lot of eternity/pave bands, the etoile style bands seem to be more me. But, wait, there''s more -- see my dilemma on Rocky Talky about wanting to upgrade the size of my stone!!! (Note: Hubby is okay with this!)

risingsun -- I hope you get some fire shots because I''d sure like to see what must be absolutely amazing fire from your new HOF reset!
