Happy Thanksgiving!

For me this thread illuminated, once again, how America-centric many of us Americans are.
I also thought it was a joke.
My apologies to our northern neighbors.

Happy T-day, Canada. :wavey::wavey::wavey:

HI:

Happy Thanksgiving! What's on the menu? I don't care much for turkey but will make one, scalloped potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cabbage rolls, brussel sprouts with parmesan and of course pumpkin pie. And Taittinger of course!

cheers--Sharon

Your menu sounds delicious, Sharon!

A bit different for my family this year. It will be a combined Thanksgiving and Octoberfest - so German-style sausages, sauerkraut, potatoes. Don’t know what dessert will be, as another family member is bringing it.

Thank you! Your meal sounds yummy also!!!!

I just made the cabbage rolls--the savoy cabbage was SO soft, it was difficult to get great "roll", so I guess they will be "lazy". But will melt in our mouthes!

Hope you’re keeping my chair at the table warm. Just at Manchester Airport about to board….. :lickout:

I’m feeling a bit “off” (maybe a tiny bit of a cold trying to start?), so no family this year. Going to have baked turkey breast, either roasted or scalloped potatoes, roast Kambocha squash, green beans, ma-a-aybe cornbread, and for dessert, chocolate quinoa cake. And Brussels sprouts! The latter, with dinner, not as a dessert. :lol:

ETA: So much to be thankful for, this year—good health, lovely place to live, plenty of food, water, fresh air (other than some fire smoke this summer), free from the harsh circumstances that so many in the world find themselves in. So grateful!

Feel better soon! And I hear you on giving thanks.

I was going to make another dish, corn meal soufflé, but I am the only one who really eats it so the lazy part of me said NAH!

Hope you feel better soon, and that it’s not the dreaded C !

Wifey4ever says we are having chicken, corn bread stuffing, squash, gravy, cranberry sauce and baked bread.

Thanks, @canuk-gal -- haha! I'm the only one who eats Brussels sprouts, but they're super easy. The lazy part of me now skips salad, because no one eats much of it at a turkey dinner. Corn meal souffle sounds yum!
