My budget is around 40k.

Option 1: Classic Harry Winston 1.5 ct. F. VS1. Price around 38k
Option 2: Costco e ring. With. GIA report. 2ct G. VS2. Price around 35k

Which one to choose?

Neither for me. Harry Winston is too expensive and I wouldn't want my ering from Costco. Are you open to other ideas?

I really appreciate if you can give me other ideas. I am in Los Angeles, Orange County area.

Victor canera. I do believe he is in LA. Work is superb and you're paying normal price for stone and not overlaying for a brand name.

Another vote for neither. If you like vintage style, I'd definitely check out Singlestone, also in the LA area. Ari is amazing to work with!

It would help if you post guidlines. What carat weight are you trying to achieve? What shape do you/ your gf prefer? Will 40K include the setting? Or just the diamond? Are you going for some classic? Vintage? solitare? etc....

Thank you so much for detailed reply. I am little bit worry about leaving my big stone there. Will they switch my stone with a lower quality one? Or if they source one for me. Can I really trust the stone is the one they described? I am not an expert in diamond.

The name of the vendor means zero.
Cut quality is king.

IMO, the more you learn about cut the more you will learn how it's smart to shop at good Internet vendors with great cut, prices policies and services ... such as ...
