Harry Winston, Tiffany and Cartier and frustrations

Maybe its a regional thing but I've never really seen people assume marital status based e ring AND wedding band. Many men don't wear wedding bands here, as often they are people who work with heavy machinery. Also as we are a working class region, people wear one band, or one diamond ring, or both, heck my SOs grandma ,bless her heart, wears 2 solitaires on her finger! Wearing only one ring on the finger is common. Not the majority. But not strange enough to warent the assumption they are still in an engagement period.

Could very well be regional though, like I said :))

Hello!!! :)

We ended up with an Oval 1.5 ct, E color, VS2, no fluorescence that Victor Canera fetched + the Emilya Flush Stem setting + a matching wedding band that sits flush next to the ring. Tomorrow we wire the deposit. :) Yay!!! Finally the ring is decided! :appl:

That should be amazing!!!! Victor's work is stunning, you should be really happy and an Oval shape will give you lots of extra finger coverage as well!!!

Thank you! I think it gives me a more slender look. My fingers are a bit short so... I needed an alongated style stone. :D

Yay! Congrats!

Congrats!!! You will not regret choosing Victor to make your ring. It will be stunning!

Thank you, Mico and Acinom!

Now I start to be a bit worried about the inclusion in the stone that will be visible. It is a crystal the main one and it is in the middle and I
my fiance saw it in the picture. :snore: How is it with this Crystals, there are the most visible inclusions?

It is a little black point a bit more upper than the middle.

That diamond is 40x bigger in that picture than it is in real life. You won't be able to see it, it is hard to see even in the 40x picture.

exactly.

You do not have to worry. This is a VS2 stone that Victor picked. You will not be able to see it with your own eyes. Inclusions are part of the glamour of natural diamonds and in your stone you will only see it when highly magnified, like in this enormously magnified photo. :naughty:

I've been following your journey and I'm so glad you had Victor source a lovely oval and that he's making you the perfect ring. It sounds like you found something that hits all the important requirements for you and for your SO! I think we tend to forget that all of the things we see on PS, YouTube, and vendor websites are very magnified. Things are so much more delicate and sparkly in real life. You'll adore that stone and your ring. I can't wait to see pictures!

Thank you all for the beautiful help! I am so happy, too! Now I am not worried about anything anymore. :) I can not wait to get my ring!

That oval looks gorgeous!! I'm so happy that you have found a setting and a stone you'll love! Congrats to you! :appl:

I've been following your thread and am so excited to see your ring!! An E will be absolutely stunning! I too love high colors. And vs2 should be fine. Unless you plan on carrying your loupe with you everywhere and handing it to people who gush over your ring, I don't think that crystal should be a concern at all. And on top of all that you have Victor making the whole shebang for you?!! Lucky lucky girl!!! You whole set will be beyond beautiful. Aren't these PSers the best?? I just cant wait to see the finished product!! Congrats!!

So, my ring is gonna take 4 weeks to be ready. :) Now we need to plan a party for the beginning of December. :)

I feel lucky too. :) I have no idea what we would have done without this forum. Probably we would have increased the budget even more to fit one of the brands mentioned but get instead a 1 ct or less stone...

This ring is going to be amazing. I love ovals  Can't wait to see the finished ring.

I just saw another post in here about a oval stone that had a bad bow tie effect that bothered that girl. I start to feel extremly worried. :snore: I think my stone arrived yet and maybe I can ask VC about the bowtie too but I am not sure how to put this question exactly since I have no idea what a good bow tie is and what a bad black bow tie. I think no bow tie is not possible, is it? I think I am going crazy here...

so, bad bowtie and good bowtie?

a bow tie isnt a bad thing, necessarily, its just a a facet that is dark when youre looking at it, if that makes sense. they occur in the middle of your stone.

I wouldnt be worried, yours may have a tiny one, but if its bad, just have VC find another one. Hes good at picking stones, he'll find a good one.

Thank you, Neil! :)

I haven't read the whole thread, but just wanted to chime in and tell you not all ovals or pears have bow-tie. I have a pear with no bow-tie (pic attached), or you might say minimal bow-tie. An obvious bow-tie would drive me nuts. Just have VC send you some pics and have him source you another stone if this current one has a bow-tie.

I just received an email back. He said it does not have a severe bow tie at all and that it looks like in the picture. :snore:

Phoenix, it is soooo prettyyyy. How many carats?

Would it be possible for you to view the stone in person before he sets it? Once he's set it, there's no going back if you change your mind and want another stone.

Could he take more pics?

Mind is 3.50ct.

When I asked he said the ring is going to be ready this wednesday. I assumed it is set already. It is impossible for us to fly to L.A. so soon because of my fiance program. I guess I will see it in person and I'll decide then. I am not sure if I can tell 100% from the picture how it will look anyway. Yeah, seems like tomorrow my ring is gonna be ready. :)

Yay! How exciting!! Don't forget to post the pic(s) that Victor will send you :appl:

I am very exciteeeed! :D Can't wait to see the first picture! :D

Any news from Los Angeles Nymphettamine?

Not yet, not yet.

My ring got delayed a bit. I emailed VC on Wednsday to ask him about the status of my ring and he said he is working on another project and he will email me about the status on Friday. My fiance was emailed today instead that tomorrow VC will do the shipping. I asked my fiance if he asked for any pictures and he said: "No, it is finished already and will be shipped soon. What would the pictures help you, is not like you will change anything now?". I am very bothered because he knows how much I want to see pictures and he did not ask for them.
