Hey Everyone,

Firstly, let me start by saying I LOVE David Klass, I have had him create multiple projects for me... However, I have never used him to source Diamonds- not sure why I hadn't considered this before. I am curious if any of you have, and if you did what your experience was like? Were his prices competitive? I know his prices are great for Jewelry creation, but was curious about the diamond sourcing experience.

Thanks all!

Great question as he currently has my ering for a new design.

He knew I currently have diamond studs that would work with my ring design. I did ask him to possibly source. Let’s see what happens.

Keep me posted! I am curious!

Only for a matching stone. I had a suite of 4 old cuts and needed a fifth. He found a fifth for me. Pricing was competitive and it was a nice match, but it was also a stone that was around .50 for weight, so not a big buy.

Thank you! Super helpful… I wouldn’t hesitate for matching stones or even an eternity, but hadn’t considered for a larger stone.

Yes, he turned my three stone ring into a five stone ring and sourced the two new stones. They were good.

He sourced a lab for me to finish a 7 stone ring (the rest are earth grown), very fair pricing IMO and no issues at all.

That’s good to know! He’s quoting me an enhancer for my solitaire and I infomed him to give me quotes on lab grown and natural. My ering is earth grown too.

Hi all!

David found a pair of RB stones for me and said they’re a beautiful pair of 1.08ct total (H/I color, VS clarity.

He sent two photos and a quick video. I never purchased a stone sight unseen except from whiteflash but it was an ACA. So many of you have worked with David so I’m a complete novice to his process. Any tips/advice on how to best proceed. We are still in the process of turning my solitaire into a 3 stone.

Ty!

Does DKJ have your center?
Anything unique about it that would make it difficult to match?
Match or coordinate?
Will matching color:clarity stats on paper be sufficient?
or does some tweaking of color /cut stats need to happen to get visual match between the center and side sizes?

I think those answers would vary depending on the person and situation of their specific center diamond but I think DKJ would be accommodating as much as they possibly could. If they know it’s a ‘want’ of their customer. I don’t think they (or most any other jeweler either) assume everyone would be that particular and operate that way.

I did ship my diamond to him awhile back. I now have it in my possession again until he redesigns my ring.

It doesn’t have to be exact match. AS long as all three work beautifully together. My center is lower color and clarity. My center RB cut is excellent per GIA.

You need to see the lab report and photos and try to match the facet pattern, proportions, and color to your main stone. This is something the vendor should be able to do for you.

For diamonds that size I would prefer a lab report

I asked David to find a larger sized diamond for me, and about the same time one came up that matched my "needs" on Loop Troupe from a PSer, so I bought that one just before David found one--David's stone was nice and reasonably priced--the one on PS was a bit better cut. I am having him source all the diamonds in the two eternity bands I am having him make to go along with the ERing replacement.

Ty! I agree. I’ll start shopping for a pair with the help of this group and send them off to him.

I look forward seeing the finished work!

To his credit he did send photos and a video. I just wasn’t sure when looking at the photos etc. For peace of mind I’ll just look for a certified pair then send them off to him.

Me too! This is my first project! I cut him loose on the design to start casting last Wednesday, and I have resisted the urge so far to email and see how's it going . He has been wonderfully patient to work with-lol!
