Guess what?!?!? I still haven't heard a peep from him. I messaged him again yesterday. Maybe we should take bets on this. I need something to do while waiting!
Have been following this thread. Do you think perhaps he’s got some mental health challenges?
The reason I ask is because this sounds like someone I know, albeit not in a gem context.
His website has his phone number listed. Might just give him a call...
He was my go-to jeweler. Overall great personality, sweet family & wife, great prices, dependable quality, & a good eye for design.
Sadly I can say that today he is no longer my go-to jeweler. His communication has been horrible & each time it's something new. We all go through it but for some reason he's incapable of slowing down or closing his shop momentarily while he catches up on orders.
I've found other jewelers that are comparable and compatible with my personality type. I will say that his prices were still the best but I'd rather pay an extra $100 for peace of mind.
I am glad that those who are still working with him are speaking out so anyone new to him who reads this thread at least goes into the work with eyes wide open.
Anyone who wants their stones back or cannot wait anylonger; I'm afraid you'll have to get quite stern with him. He tends to stretch the patience and kindness of us willing to wait.
@LemonMoonLex Can you share who do you use instead of DanM? I also have my stones with him, he stopped answering my messages and I am not sure i want to go through this for future projects.
@Matata I am so very sorry, I had no idea.
No worries. I didn't want to see you left waiting for an answer.

Hello, I was searching for a review about Daniel M and came across your comment. I discovered him through a Reddit user who sent a stone to be set by him, and I also did the same. However, it’s been a week since he got my stones, and I haven’t heard anything from him. Should I be worried? Thank you.
If you read through all the posts you'll get an idea. He had my stones for nearly 2 years and didn't do anything with it.
Oh no![]()
Just be firm if he doesn't deliver as promised then take your business elsewhere. I ended up using a different jeweller who got the stones back for me.
@Madamshop One week is nothing, unfortunately. Just keep on him. Here is his number: (781) 657-0200
He has my stonesHe initially said it takes about 2-3 days to be set, but he hasn't replied to my messages. Do you think he would return them to me?

I recommend asking for a realistic timeline and then staying on top of it with regular check ins. If he tells you a date for a step then follow up the next day to see if that step took place. I recommend having a clear idea of what you want, dan has great creative ideas but asking him to come up with suggestions/ideas will delay project completion, as i have learned the hard way. I have sent stones for my current project in mid July, i approved cad in December or early January. My previous two projects were done in 4 months. Good luck!
Yeah of course he would return them to you... Eventually....
When he had my stones.. I had asked for it back like maybe 3-4 times. I even provided my return address. Each time he would say oh I'm working on it and nearly done but weeks go by and I haven't seen or heard anything. You have to be really firm to get him to return your stones! Make sure he knows you're serious.
