Has anyone used Texas Gem Service to recut a diamond? They are located in the Houston area. I have not decided if I'm going to have my diamond recut (its a Very Good RB cut right now and I'd like to bump it up to an Excellent or Ideal if possible to get more sparkle and reduce light leakage) but I'm researching them and BGD. TGS's diamond cutter has 60 yrs experience but I won't consider them at all if I can't see examples of their work or find some testimonials on PS.

What I like about them though is they take 10-15 days to complete the cut (before sending it for a new lab report) and it's done inhouse versus BGD sends them to Isreal for the cutting process. But the examples of BGD shown on PS are outstanding and jaw dropping!

I'm bumping this because I'm curious as well. You might also have them move this to RockyTalky.

Brian Gavin is worth the wait. BG and GOG would be the only two sources I would consider for recuts.

Thanks DS. The diamond I want recut is just a small champagne - just over a half carat. Not sure it's worth the wait or the price of Brian Gavin or GOG, so I was hoping someone had had experience with Texas Gem. Good or bad. :)
