Has this happened to you? I''ve been super stressed lately, for no real reason, and it''s really bothering me. The smallest thing makes me go beserk, and unfortunately, my FI gets the brunt of my wrath.
7.gif
I''ve blown up at him for the dumbest things but at the time, they seem like a HUGE deal. It''s not all wedding-related stress either -- it''s work, whether to look for a house, etc. I really wish I was a more laid back type of person but I can easily work myself into a bundle of nerves.

If this has happened to you, how did you solve things?

Oh GOD I''ve been feeling this way for the last two weeks. I''ve got ZERO patience and crabby and moody and just FED UP with everything. John''s been bearing the brunt of mine too, although I''ve REALLY been trying to keep a lid on it.

Today is particularly bad all I want to do is go home and pull the covers over my head, preferrably with a cat for company. The ringing of the PHONE is getting on my nerves.
If you figure out a solution let me know cause the only one I''ve got is to come on here any lose myself, or lose myself in a book.

I want to go away. Far far away. I just feel totally burned out. ((HUGS)). Misery loves company???

YES! I''ve completely shut down, not getting ANYTHING done in the evenings after work or even on the weekends. I think for me it''s money stress over wedding expenses.
7.gif

I hope you girls feel better soon!

Yes, but PMS doesn't help. ((Hug!))
14.gif
I get annoyed by things like..well today someone sat next to me in class and I really like that seat to be open so I can stretch out and put my bookbag there. I was really annoyed by that, which is probably mean of me.
31.gif

ETA: I am trying to avoid controversial threads because man that's a bad place for me with this moodiness!

Believe me, I feel the exact same way. Ugh. If I were in northern CA, I'd invite you over for a glass of wine.

The following is a mindless rant, full of pure venting about seemingly nothing. It feels good to get it out but you can skip reading the rest if you wish.

I was LIVID last night when my FI called me into the living room to clean up water that had spilled. One of our cats had knocked over a full glass of water that was on one of the end tables. There were a bunch of papers (belonging to me) on the table and they got soaked. My FI had apparently ran into the kitchen to grab paper towels, and he placed them on the spill. Instead of cleaning it up thoroughly, he let the papers and table continue to get soaked and he went back to playing hockey on his X Box. He called me to finish cleaning because "they were your papers and I didn't know how you wanted to take care of them." Well, removing them from the wet table would have been a start, Einstein. I'm still not speaking to my FI at the moment. Childish, I know. Do I care? Nope.

Work is stressing me out. A fabulous administrator is leaving and I'm so upset. Report cards are due in a couple of weeks. High-maintenance parents need to find more productive ways to spend their days. The end of the year is approaching (well, in three months) and I'm already wondering if I did everything I possibly could for the kids in my class. Will I get positive feedback from parents? Oh, I'm going to be observed next week. Will I do well? Will I have enough activites planned to meet everyone's needs and learning styles?

I'm tired of our house (well, condo). It's small and I want to move into a house. My FI doesn't want to and we disagree about our next step. He wants to stay where we are until we've paid down our mortgage (we've been here for just over two years). He thinks we'll be able to put down more of a downpayment on another place if we stay where we are for a few more years. If I have to stay here for a few more years, I'll lose my mind.

When we do move, my FI wants to return to the part of the state we lived in before moving here. We're closer to my parents if we stay here but we'd be closer to his whole family if we move back to the area we used to live. I somewhat randomly applied for a job here a few years back and I ended up getting the position. That was a great step up and I love my school, but I didn't really intend on leaving the area we had been in. I considered it a fluke. Now my FI wants to move back and I don't want to leave my job -- even though I love that area we left. Decisions, decisions...

ETA: Taxes. We paid to get them done and I actually owed more for the fee they charged than what I was getting back. How does THAT happen? I'm not in a particularly high tax bracket. I got more back last year. So buh-bye to putting that money into savings.

Okay, I think that's it. I'm whining and I can't help it. Sheesh. I need a glass of wine. White, please.

I have been super- stessed for the last three weeks, but tried to hold it in until today. The reason: renovation of our main floor. I know, it sounds harmless enough, but having all your furniture in the living room and everything in totally disarray has made me furious. The ferocity of my usual easy-going temperament was announced loudly at our make-shift kitchen table at dinner time. Our wonderful cat who has been so patient through this whole mess was meowing for food at the table. As I had just fed him before we sat down, I yelled, "Shut up!" after which he went into hiding. Usual remorse set in. Then I was in the kitchen, and DH called out, "Your dinner''s getting cold to which I loudly replied, " I don''t give a dam* about my dinner! Leave me alone!"
29.gif

After diinner, I asked him to please clean up the table so that I could check in on the computer (read...get away) to which he stupidly replied, "What''s so important about the computer?"
20.gif
. I then completely lost it and told him in no uncertain terms, what physical impossibility he could attempt all by himself. The look on his face of total disbelief at my candour and even having had knowledge of the word was priceless! A true Mastercard moment!
36.gif

We''ve been married for almost 45 years next week, and you''d think he''d know me by now and be able to anticipate my tolerence level, but no, he had tp push one step farther, and enter the no-go zone.

The contractors say they''ll be finished next week "sometime". Little do they realize what''s in store for them if they aren''t. They haven''t yet experienced the true blood-curdling temper that is Isabel at her worst.
29.gif

Oh Isabel. I'm sorry. I normally don't giggle at others' misfortunes but this had me chuckling a little bit. I completely understand.

ETA: Back to me for a sec. I swear I am not usually this self-centered. Really. I know I'll read over this thread later and think "OMG, what was I THINKING even being upset over such petty things?"

My dress. I don't want to wear it. It's pretty but I have never gotten over the nervous feeling of being the heavy bride. I've gotten more than one comment from my OWN MOTHER about how "at least you recognize what you need to work on and you have all this time to work on yourself." When I basically told her how I didn't want to be known as the overweight bride, that was her comment to me. Makes me want to hide under a rock.

Man, that is the worst, Zoe. I completely feel for you. Our condo is TINY. We are literally bursting at the seams. Our upstairs neighbors are loud loud loud and I sometimes think it is is bad as the dorm was in college. Sigh. We aren''t going to be able to sell our place for another six months or so and there are moments (days, weeks, years...) that I just can''t stand it any longer!

Passes wine. Goes to kitchen for cheese.

Swimmer, I think I love you.

I know you''ve mentioned it before, but I forget, where are you located?

Yup and yup...

Certain things are just really getting on my last nerve.

My husband asks me things when I told him about them multiple times, and he acts like this is the first time he is hearing it.

My kids do not listen and my middle is being especially sloppy and losing everything...and then acts like he cannot understand why I am so annoyed and refuse to buy him his fourth cell phone in 6 months.

I am in a mood where everyone is annoying me and I want to take my book and go sit on beach somewhere and drink fruit drinks and relax in a hammock under a tree.

But here I sit in Utah while everyone else has fun skiing but me, since I do know how and do not wish to start learning now!

Somerville baby! Yeah. Please share the love and tell me what to do with my everloving bustle issue.

And don''t sweat observations! You know they are just going to comment on something totally random or uncontrollable and you will be given great reviews and then wonder why you even stressed. You know this is true!

i was like that a couple weeks ago. now, 5 weeks to our wedding, i think i''m in the "whatever happens, happens. I don''t care I''m getting married" mood.. =P we''re trying to finalize our menu, get rsvp''s in, get my veil and shoes and all this other stuff. and really what i keep reminding myself of, is that this is OUR day. we''re not catering to our guests and trying to make the party great solely for them! so yeah. *sigh*

Ughhh I''ve felt like this lately too. My wedding is in May so I''m less than 2 months away and that, along with pms and school, has made me pretty much have a nervous breakdown. I feel like I''m forgetting things that need to be done for the wedding and things aren''t looking too hot with school so I may have to repeat a couple of my classes. Poor FI has really been getting the worst of it. *sigh* The only thing that may help me make it through finals and the wedding is my spa day this sunday that my bridesmaids purchased for me!

Ah, Somerville. Got it. Hey, I got engaged the same night we saw Jonatha Brooke at the Somerville Theater last spring. What other connections do I have? Let''s see -- a friend lives there and our invitation printer''s studio is there. So is Taza Chocolate. Yum. Oooh, the crepe place next to the theater -- SO GOOD.

Oh, by the way, I''m not sure I was much help, but I just replied to your thread with the bustle issue.

I''d take you up on it if we lived near each other.

I understand. HUG.

John''s job decision has been driving me batty. It''s just bringing up a lot of disappointment and anger from his other job/ career choices and decisions.

My boss was out for three weeks. Which was good cause I was hating the very thought of her before she left. But I''m burned out from covering both our jobs for three weeks. Plus it''s the end of the quarter and all the crazys are out in full force wanting everything, and wanting it yesterday. I want to move to a different department, but the person who would be my boss doesn''t want any more direct reports and questions my motives (I hate my current boss, think that department is better for my career future, and oh... I hate my boss''s boss too).

My mother is in an agony of indecision about surgery. I can''t help.

I''m the research person for family and work, but feel researched out. I just wish for once people would figure out how to use GOOGLE for themselves.

Can''t find my ATM card.

My new cell phone I finally conceded to get after 4 years ( I LOVED my old one) because I was worried about not getting another good one, only ha 2 hours of talk time, though I researched it a few websites for reviews that SWORE it got 4plus hours.

I''m feeling fat, hairy and out of shape.

I went to the dermatoligist yesterday and he gave me so many mousses, cremes, washes, pills etc that I think I need a phramocology degree just to figure out what I need to do daily.

Argh.

Me TOO ... does that make six, eight, ten of us? Aigh. I feel for you all. Re: the condo vs. house -- oy. My "dream house" has turned into a NIGHTMARE with parts of it falling off or otherwise breaking every week to the tune of thousands of $$. Not stylistic changes mind you -- not ugly tile or an old stove (both of which we also have) but CHUNKS of SIDING falling off leaving holes exposed to the furry kind of "elements".
23.gif
I am all up in Grey Gardens o''re here.
32.gif
But can''t move because of the market & finances & a whole host of annoyances.

Today''s biggie was: DH casually informs me that for about 5 min this a.m. we were overdrawn on our joint checking for $8. We keep that acct. low on purpose & the only reason I was using it for routine groceries & gas is I''m waiting for a replacement card on my own acct. -- but I CALLED him before using the card - to confirm there was enough $$ (was in the car at the grocery already, not near computer or I would have checked myself). He says "Go for it". I get like $45 in gas & $50ish in groceries and we''re freakin OVERDRAWN. What if they''d declined the debit while I was standing there??? AIIGHH. And he''s all giggly about it. And I''m STEAMED. And he''s all ... why are you so pi*** and I''m all I CALLED YOU TO CHECK and he''s all I MADE A MISTAKE. And I''m all YOU''RE GIGGLING. And he''s all IT''S IRONIC! And I''m all YOU''RE NOT TAKING IT SERIOUSLY. And he''s all I CAN TAKE SOMETHING SERIOUSLY AND STILL FIND THE HUMOR IN IT AT THE SAME TIME. Rage.

Plus, a row of sugar ants invaded my honey squeeze bottle -- which I discovered when I went to make a soothing cup of tea.
7.gif

So, in conclusion: YES THE LITTLEST THINGS HAVE BEEN BUGGING ME LATELY.
9.gif

Gypsy, I''m sorry you''re feeling so stressed also. I know you and your family have gone through a lot this year. Your family is very lucky to have you and I wish the best for your mom.

About the other stuff -- ugh. Can you take a mental health day and go to a spa or something to get away from it all? Treat yourself to something special?

Deco, I feel for ya. Men are weird sometimes. As for houses, it had been a buyers'' market but I don''t think they were talking about the area I live in (New England). We can''t afford what we''d really love so we''re stuck in this 1,000 sq ft. condo with two cats. We''re all trippin'' over each other.

y''all need a hug!! I''m sorry you guys are so stressed. I blame the weather...just because!

I type this as all of the ingredients for dinner are laid out in my kitchen, but I just don''t have the energy to get out of this chair and make it. Every night I swear to myself I''ll take a nice bubble bath, but time gives way to daily chores and I go to bed unsudsy and completely unenergized.

Zoe, you should know that you are a fantastic teacher who obviously cares about her students and you are going to be an absolutely BEAUTIFUL bride! And boy do I feel you on the small condo issue, I am itching to move out of our apartment and we haven''t even been here a year! When we got engaged we decided not to buy since we anticipated a temporary West coast move, so we rented a cheap 2-bedroom apartment in a 2-family home and I forgot how much I HATE having noisy neighbors. I can''t take it anymore!

Thanks NEL! You''re sweet. Have you thought more about moving to the west coast? Would it for a job opportunity?

nothing is bugging me except my dress. it''s not a bridal gown. it''s a white dress from bcbg and it doesn''t seem to want to arrive. not every store gets all of the pieces, so i''m afraid it will never make it to stores in my area. bummer.

Can I play too?

1. I had a big group presentation today for school, stayed up until 3 am last night perfecting it, and 1 member of my group didn''t get his work done, so he made up a sob story about "losing" the paper so the teacher would let us go on Tuesday instead. I stayed up crazy late, woke up early and wore a super cute dressy outfit and then had to put it off. I was super pissed.

2. I sat in an empty row in my next class and a boy walked in and sat directly next to me. I HATE that too, SarahLovesJS!

3. I walked all the way to the office for study abroad to ask some questions about a summer study abroad program I''m thinking about doing, and the girl there was absolutely useless. She was only interested in telling me about all the rules and regulations, like the refund policy. She went on and on about how no one really reads the application and blah blah blah. She had no answers for me about anything useful, like accommodations, etc. I was/still am so irritated I might write a letter and complain about her.

I think that''s it for now...I may have to come back later and complain more! So I feel you all!

Yes, all of that is definitely annoying. #2 is one of my all-time worst pet peeves and it happens to me all the time. Without fail, every single time I go to the movies, someone sits directly in front of me. The theater could be empty and people would still choose seats in front of us. Why? Such a PITA.

Feel free to come back and vent more if needed.

We are BOTH stressed. We''ve been fighting about everything, it seems like our patience for each other is lower than normal. I think our stress comes mostly from feeling like we''re bleeding money non-stop, with the wedding and things related to the wedding, even though we''re not doing anything extravagant. And just this week, FI calls me in the middle of the day to see if I''d meet him for lunch. I think every other time he''s asked me before, I''ve said no because I''m busy...but because we''ve been stressed I pushed myself to go out and meet him. I was excited about it, too...to get to spend some time with him. So on my way out, I decide to pick up the mail (we live in a gated community with a central "post office"). As I''m leaving, he calls me, to tell me to meet him at Panera Bread and what do I do? I move back w/o looking. Next thing I know, I''ve backed right into a Mercedes. It cost us $600 to fix the guy''s car and provide him a rental for 3 days (we thought it was the right thing to do, while his was getting fixed). Plus, now my car (that I am very careful with) has its bumper all scratched up. Plus, we gave people until May 1 to let us know if they''re coming, and I wish we had given them less time.

I''m sure I''m leaving out 20 other things that have been stressing me out...

Hi ladies...I am so sorry that things aren''t going well for any of you, either.
32.gif

So, I guess I need to take a turn here, too...

ETA: Wow, I just finished all that, and it''s really long, I see, so forgive me in advance, but I suppose I just needed to vent to someone, too. Thanks for hearing me out...

*If it makes any of you feel a little bit better, my high stress level has resulted in my getting Shingles again, for the second time in less than a year and a half. I was already sick almost my entire 2 weeks of Spring Break with that stinkin'' cold and ear infection (before which I had the flu and then laryngitis!!!), and by Easter Sunday I was finally starting to feel better and actually was able to taste the food at Easter dinner! I went home, got lots of stuff done for my return to school and just when I think I''m on the mend, KABOOM...after having horrible wedding disaster nightmares, I wake up Monday morning with a rash starting all over my face, in exactly the same spots as it occured the last time. By noon it was full fledged sores and the right side of my face was completely swollen, almost making my eye close shut. I am currently on anti-virals and pain killers and can still barely open my mouth to eat or speak. I even have to drink out of straw with the left side of my mouth. I look like I''ve been in a bar brawl, which I must say, is not my best look.
39.gif

*FI had the nerve to laugh (he said it just came out, so Deco, I hear ya!) on Tuesday when, while sobbing, I told him I had Shingles again
29.gif
...he is lucky he is still alive at this point.

*My mother is still complaining about *having* to go to Maui for my July wedding. My parents and brother are the only ones who have not made plans to go to Maui. They are going to get their invitation rescinded very soon.
39.gif

*Both mine and FI''s brother have no money, and even though we are helping them pay for the trip, they can''t stop griping about how they won''t have any spending money while there and what kind of fun can they possibly have, etc... We are planning to give each of our attendants (2) $100 bills with "MAD MONEY" written on them along with their thank you gifts, but if they don''t stop their b*tchin'', I am going to take that money and treat myself to a spa day...or maybe just a day to be left ALL ALONE, with no one stupid surrounding me.
15.gif

*Two of FI''s family who had finally RSVP''ed for the wedding over a month late have now flaked out...this happened just yesterday.
38.gif

*Work is the pits...like you, Zoe, I wonder what else I could be doing for my students. Being new to a grade level and working with a less than supportive team has taken its toll...I am dreading the STAR testing coming up in May...I just don''t think my kids are ready for it and I don''t know that I can have them ready by then AND still manage to teach ALL of the curriculum I still have left to teach.
7.gif

*I have an aide who is supposed to work with my Sp. Ed students who is driving me insane!!! I spoke w/my principal about it before our vacation and he met with her and she got all huffy and demanded a meeting with all of us, which took place today. Long story short, the woman flat-out LIED in front of both of us! She had gone through some of my things awhile back and I had to stop giving a report card assessment FOUR times to get her out of what she was going through. She had even admitted to me she was "just being nosy" and I said, "I know, and I''ve asked you to stop three times!!!" She lied to my principal and said that as soon as I told her to stop she *immediately* did and that I was NOT givng an assessment at the time! OMG! I want to strangle her! Luckily, my principal has her number and knows from past experience she is a liar and a gossip, but because she knows "members of the board" she feels she is invincible. She even had the nerve to badmouth me to one of my parent helpers on Tuesday. The parent is a good friend of mine, so that was a really dumb move she made right there. This aide is a woman who tried to get me in trouble a few years ago, as well, and it appears she is up to her old tricks again, and I refuse to put up with her crap any longer. My classroom environment is miserable when she is in the room, and I truly dread going to work each day. The next 11 weeks are going to be miserable...I think I hate her, and I honestly dislike very few people that much.

*FI is doing nothing to help me with much of anything for the wedding. I have asked him to do little things, one or two at a time, since November. He still hasn''t gotten hardly any of them done! He''s going to be digging out of the hole he dug himself when he laughed at me on Tuesday...doing some of the things that need to be done would be helpful. He does know that his not helping me is part of the cause of the Shingles, so I''m assuming he''ll behave for a little while maybe. (Keeps fingers crossed)

*FI has also been bugging me about moving in with him, like yesterday. We both own our own houses, of which mine is the newest, but is the smaller of the two, but mine is FULL of stuff. I think Octavia mentioned she was a packrat, and I am sadly of the same ilk. So, to appease the good ''ol FI, during my Spring Break, I tried to pack some stuff to begin moving it to his house, which has very little storage space and I really just don''t see how all of our stuff together is going to work. I took several loads over (in my convertible, no less...lots of room in THERE!) and he has the nerve to ask if I''m almost done??? I told him I hadn''t even begun to scratch the surface and that I STILL don''t plan to finish going through all of my stuff, packing boxes and moving in until AFTER the end of my school year in the middle of June. I am already working extra jobs every single day after school and then doing more work when I get home, and the last damn thing I have time for is PACKING! He''s killing me...I may just keep this adorable little house of mine, after all.

*My BM''s have done nothing I have asked them to. I can''t get 2 of them to call me back, ever; I can''t get any of them to agree with how to alter the dress straps...I am tired of trying. I am giving up on all of them and am just praying they show up. If not, oh well. I''m seriously considering either NOT doing wedding programs at all or taking white-out along with me and covering their names up if they flake. Mature, huh? Just not feeling very *adult* lately.

*We still need slacks/pants for 6 men for the wedding. Unfortunately, they are all such oddball sizes that I can''t find matching pants in both regular and big/tall sizes. They are also so expensive that it appears I may have to spend more on their clothes than my dress is costing me...that is, if I can even find enough of one pant in the correct sizes that will work for all of them. I''m finding it near impossible and am thinking they can all go half-nekkid!

*My mom is also now complaining about having to wear the beautiful silk shantung suit she not only picked out but that I also paid for! Since she doesn''t want to go to Maui, she can burn the damn thing for all I care. I told her she is welcome to find something else to wear at her own expense, but since she can''t even make the plans to ATTEND my wedding, I''m guessing she won''t bother to put the effort forth to find something else. She''ll just complain the whole time that it''s too hot, etc...

*The dinner reception after the wedding is STILL not planned...not from lack of trying on my end, it''s because all of the people on Maui are apparently on "island time."

*The wedding reception in August has NOTHING done...not one stinkin'' thing. FI is the delaying factor in this, as well. Oh, yeah, did I mention that he is actually scheduled to work that day and the day before??? Who the hell picks a date he is scheduled to work on for his wedding reception, I ask you, especially right after taking 2 1/2 weeks off less than a month before? He gave me the okay for that date almost a year prior, and I just figured it out yesterday. Apparently all the meds I''m on are making all of the problems surface and present themselves clearly to me. Great. Fantastic. Yay for me. This can stop at ANY time, really.

*My wedding dress is not supposed to be in until the 2nd or 3rd week of June...I leave for Maui on July 17th and I''m so afraid it won''t fit and/or I won''t be able to have it altered in time. There is nothing I can do about this one, but it scares the hell out of me.

*To pay for all of the things I would like to do at my wedding/in Maui, I have been tutoring a Sp. Ed student twice a week for extra money. I also teach another class one day a week after school, and I am so tired of those kids week in and week out. I also just agreed to take on another student to help a friend out, and I am still making my jewelry to try to make all of my expensive ends meet. I think I may lose my mind...

I''m sure there''s more, but I feel better just getting that off my chest. I still don''t want to be seen in public because my face is so messed up, but I still go to work and stare down that nasty aide of mine and do the best I can every stinkin'' day. I''ve just had it...I''m tired of being upset, I''m tired of crying all the time, and I just want all of this school year and wedding planning to be over and done with already.

Thanks if you managed to get through all that, and I''m sorry all of you are having such a rough time, too.

Ouch, Harleigh, I''m sorry. It sounds like you''ve been having a pretty tough time lately, and I hope that you start feeling better soon. Do you do any sort of relaxation exercises? Even if it''s just for a few minutes a day, being able to decompress and breathe a bit might help keep the stress down and give you some time to get your immune system back into shape.

My sympathies to everyone else, too...I''m in a super lazy mood lately, not caring about much of anything, but I''ve definitely been in touchy, stressed-out, irked-at-everything moods recently, too. I hope it passes soon for all of you -- maybe when spring actually gets here, it will help? Let''s hope!

Wow Harleigh, I am sorry you are going through so much! Hey your family needs to get with it, I would love to go Maui! What is wrong with them?

I''m insane over the bar exam. Does that count?

Thanks, Octavia...I don''t know that the word "relax" is in my vocabulary! There are boxes and packing material everywhere and my house is all torn about while I weed through stuff to either try to pack or donate to Goodwill and I am tense from the moment I walk in the door. I also have a neighbor who insists on blocking part of my garage daily, so I am trying to figure out a way to have it out with him, too.

Obviously work is not a relaxing place for me, either. Maybe I should ask for some Valium until July, huh? Thanks for the kind thoughts, sweetie! Any relaxation techniques you can suggest?

Thank you, too, Sarah, and hey, we now have two empty spaces, so if you make it to Maui, feel free to join us.

My family has always been like this...if it wasn''t my mom''s or dad''s idea, then it must be wrong and therefore ridiculous and/or unnecessary in their eyes. They invited us over for Easter so that my FI could again help them move stuff in his truck to their new house. It took 3 hours to move their crap on Sunday, yet they can''t put any effort into the wedding or any other part of our lives...we have such a great relationship...right!

Did I mention that my parents are offering NO support for this wedding, either emotionally or monetarily? The only thing we have asked them to do is get there and try to enjoy themselves. They are loaded, so I find myself feeling really mad having to come up with all of the money to buy all of their things for the wedding, too. I just don''t get it.

What can I say?? My family is whacked...my brother, except for a few problems, is a good guy...he just needs a direction for his life.

Thanks for all of your support, ladies!
