Have you been "planning" your wedding while waiting?

I started to, but FF and I talked about it, and I''ve really tried to put it out of my mind.

He feels like if we plan everything ahead of time, the engagement becomes something of a formality, and there''s nothing ''special'' reserved for when we are actually engaged. He thinks it takes away from the excitement. I had started thinking of little ideas initially, but nothing is materialized. No lists of colors, or guests, or anything like that. He really feels strongly that we should take things one step at a time, so I''m following suit.

heck, i should have just quoted your statement! its the same for us.

yes, we''ve started without being formally engaged. we get a lot of funny looks and questions, but whatever. so much easier to start ahead of time than be rushed. as a matter of fact, we''re touring our first reception site this afternoon; i''m so excited!

come to think of it, i think almost everything has been chosen, except for our site, our photographer, officiant, and baker. wish us luck for our site visit!

Well we''ve already set the date, so despite my lack of ring I think we could be considered engaged. We''ve looked at some reception sites and churches and have both already picked out. We might even book them and put down our deposits before I get my ring. I''m sure we''ll just do what feels right. But we''re big on putting the cart in front of the horse- we bought a house back in April. At this point I think my parents are just happy we haven''t decided to have kids before marriage.
