Having buyer's remorse after shane co purchase.....

Just pay by wire. It's safe with B2C.

Now let's talk settings.

Gypsy, you and Pricescope rocks! Just found out b2c give out extra discount if I searched the diamond through the PS diamond search feature. Ordered placed now on to settings. Going to email the 3 vendors you listed on a custom halo.

I think that is one hell of a deal compare to what Shane Co tried to sell me.

Great job.

Here are some pictures to share with them. Tell them you you definitely want a double halo that is cushion shaped around a round stone and that it should also have a double shank.

And here are some inspiration images.

I think since he is well under budget on the diamond, he should use Victor Canera or Steven Kirsch for this setting, personally. He will still have room to have them make the matching wedding band and come in around his original budget.

Yeah I would love to make a matching band. I wouldn't mind going a little over my budget if needed as long as it will rock my significant other socks!

Okay well, then use Steven or Victor. Although, Brilliantly Engaged has two benches, one that matches Steven and Victor, you just have to specify that you want 'handforged' for the construction method. Any of those three benches would do a fantastic job on that setting.

Again, the metal has to be platinum.

You got a steal on that stone! 9k! That leaves 6k for the setting! Perfect.

Loving this thread! A great example of how PS can make all the difference for someone seeking out that special ring! Really looking forward to seeing the end result! Nice job so far....

I was wondering is there any particular reason why Steven and victor stands out from the other vendors that was listed?

They are the ones that do the style of ring you want the best.

Why not DK isn't he a lot cheaper maybe then could spend more on diamond

Oh my goodness -- this makes my day. Another person saved from a horrible mall store diamond ring who is now getting so much more diamond and ring for less money.

Yay!!!!! :appl:

You really should read the whole thread before posting. :shhh:

I don't think you need to improve much on it. That ring will have a LOT of bling and flash. Trust me.

I'd ask them to square out the outline of halos more like the inspiration piece (Shane Co ring) and remind them that your center is a round.

That ring will knock the other one out of the park.

Call the other two vendors, tomorrow.

Ask Steven for this: http://www.stevenkirsch.com/r0151.html But with cushion shaped halos around a round stone.

For Brilliantly Engaged show them the Victor Link, but tell them your stone is round and you want the halo outlines to be more square.

INCORRECT. I wiggled myself this deal. 1 ct GIA triple ex D color set in a Scott Kay band from Helzberg Diamonds (IN A MALL) for $7000. Lifetime warranty, cleaning, forever. BOOM.

There's no need to belittle mall stores. All you need to do is tell them what you're looking for (specs, proportions, etc). Most likely, they'll pull it out to show you and then you'll be able to negotiate with them.

Disagreeing makes me a troll? Wow, talk about intolerance. I thought this was a discussion board...

I'm not agreeing that you're a troll, but your comment was incorrect. The OP was in fact saved from a bad buy. The deal you got is an exception, so you're not doing people who don't really know diamonds any favors by suggesting they go to the maul. Very few would come out as well as you did.

You are posting on numerous threads. Not just one. That is why I labeled you...

I really think ,$6000 is a lot to spend on a setting, styles change. If you are rich then maybe $6000 on a $190,000 diamond or if you are older and know you will stay with that setting for the next 20 years. For the ratio of cost to a diamond of say $10,000, that could pay for quite an upgrade in color, clarity, size or for even 3 more settings over the next 10 or 20 years. What happens when wide band styles come back etc. Not to mention in five years when tiny claws are worn and,1 point tiny minute diamonds keep escaping leaving holes.

You're not the OP - you listed this ring on another thread. dcun201 is the OP and you should not take over his thread. You are a troll. Trying to promote mall stores on Pricescope.

Man I really like that Victor Canera setting. I keep going going back to that picture. The halo definitely need to be more squared out a bit.

He is one of the nicest people you will ever work with and the quality of his settings are outstanding.

Before you get your mind-heart firmly set on VC, do clarify with him --since you would be sending him your own stone -- that he is willing to tweak that setting; see the answer to Do you accept customer supplied center stones? on his FAQ page for the reason I am suggesting this:

And...
DK's workmanship is nowhere near the league of Leon Mege, Victor Canera, Steven Kirsch, DBL's Uber bench, BE's hand forging bench, etc.
You get what you pay for.
