Headed to NY Diamond Dist tomorrow...Please Help!!!

Hi knowledeable pricescopers,

I''m doing it, I''m going to NY to look at diamonds in person. I''ve been engaged since Christmas and now I''m actually getting my ring (I hope). Can anyone tell me of reputable vendors to look at besides ERD and GOG. I''m visiting them as well, but want to look at more than two vendors.

I''m looking for a chunky cut cushion diamond:
F-G
2.5-3.0 carats
VS1-VS2
ratio 1.07-1.10
hoping to stay below $28,000

If you can give me names of people you''ve had good experience with, that would be great! I don''t know if other vendors are gonna know much about chunky cushions, but I want to get the experience from my trip. For that matter, what else should I do when I''m there? Any good restaurant or show advice? I''ve never been before.

How about calling ahead each of these vendors and telling them what you are looking for, they will probably have to call in stones for you and this may take time as you have VERY rigid requirements which you may have to be more flxeible on LW ratio and on clarity and size.

GOG is in long island not in the diamond district.

Go to Adam at Old World Diamonds (Rick Shatz) if you can- he''s fabulous to work with.
He found me my perfect antique cushion and was very patient with answering my gazillion newbie questions!

GOG is definitely worth the drive out to Long Island. The August Vintage cut is an amazing chunky cushion. Just gave my girlfriend hers and she LOVED it!
