Hi All!

No workout for me today, it''s my 3 job day, so I am in cosntant motion. We''re having spicy chicken soup for dinner. DH is being really thoughtful about my weight being more than I''d like and is now on a low fat cooking kick, I love it!

Welcome, Paula, what a fun challenge.

Sounds like you had a great workout, Charger.

Sorry about the headache Bee.

Have a great evening all. Back tomorrow with exercise to report.

Hey.....sorry for not checking in yesterday, but it was just a busy day all around. We did have our typical Monday night sushi, followed by coffee at the Sbucks closer to our condo. Work so far this week has been the usual stress. I won''t bore you with it, but it''s definitely time for me to seriously start looking for a new gig, which with this lovely economy, won''t be easy. I got to the gym tonight a little after 6 and worked out past 9 PM, so I had a really strong workout. Tomorrow''s not a gym night. Charlie works till 7 tomorrow, so I''ll probably stop off at the store on my way home and get something to fix for dinner.

Lorelei, as the only regular guy on the HLT, I can say that even us guy''s worry how we look in summer clothes. When I was fat and out of shape, I just wore overly large clothing to hide the fact that I was the Pillsbury Dough Boy. Certainly living in the land of warm weather year round helped motivate me to finally get in shape and look better in shorts and t-shirts. I''ll never feel completely happy with how I look, but I know I look MUCH better than I have in my entire life and at 54 years old, that''s a good thing. We are our harshest critics and the fact that we''re all here on the HLT and working towards a healthier us, is a great thing. Remember that what ou see in the mirror is not what other''s see. What other''s see is likely way better than the image in your head.

Hey to everyone. It''s late and I need to get to bed soon. I''ll check back in tomorrow evening. Welcome PaulaW!!

Hi everyone!I hope you are doing great.Marty will be home from his convention tomorrow. He didn’t get time to call me last night so boy I laid it on thick this morning in an email about how I cried myself to sleep and how my heartache continued.

39.gif
He didn’t buy it.
11.gif
They have vendors taking them out to dinner and shows so he can’t get away to talk on the phone.I noticed he did take the time to call me tonight before they met for dinner.Ha Ha.The guilt trip always works.
9.gif

Last night I went to supper with a friend. We had fun – more drinking and talking than eating.

emcocktl.gif

Today I went to renew my driver''s license.I set down when I get there to fill out my paperwork. He asked for my old license and he looks at it and said "wow, you don''t look like this anymore".

36.gif
I said thank you.I told him I lost 165 pounds the old fashioned way - diet and exercise. He said congratulations. Then when he was asking me questions I proudly told him what I weigh and told him it''s the first time in my life that I didn''t lie about how much I weigh on my license.Such fun!

I have been spending too much time looking for a emerald cut diamond.I am so confused but what fun.

Lorelei, great opener. When I was shopping for clothes the weekend I don’t tend to buy many summer clothes – I am just not comfortable in short sleeve or sleeveless clothes but I do like them.

Dani, I am still laughing at the devil bathing suits.

1.gif
I know WW will work for you and your dress will be fine. What I did on weekends was use my bonus points and eat less often but with a few more calories or treats. For example during the week I eat 6 times a day, small snacks, low cal breakfast and split the rest between lunch and dinner. On the weekends I would have about 400 calories for breakfast then eat a sensible but larger dinner and then have a small dessert. That worked for me.I also tried to go for walks on the weekends.I also will spend time making good but healthy meals like low fat lasagna, low fat pizza and things like that.

Kimi, glad you got out some of your favorite shorts already.

Lisa, I am not pulling out my summer clothes yet either.Although this week has been nice with NO snow.

Tacori, good for your mom looking and doing to great at 60.Whatever gives you motivation is helpful.

Bee, how fun planning your wardrobe for your honeymoon.Where are you going again?I hope your headache is better.

BeachRunner, I might have to look in to Bermuda shorts. That would be new for me.I hope the sun came out today.Congratulations for doing so well on your 5K.Awesome!

36.gif

ChargerGirl, how fun to have new people at boot camp and woo hoo for lower fees.I did sleep 6 hours last night but tonight looks bleak getting to bed on time.Ha Ha.

Appletini, I love skirts too.I need to find a nice denim one.I like jumpers too.

Somethingshiny, glad to hear your wrist is better.

Stepcutnut, good luck with detox and the new class.

Kimi, my pants are a little tighter than normal so I am trying to be careful too.We will get back to normal soon. That is great J is cooking healthy food for you.

Dragonfly, how fun to do a biggest loser.

Elmorton, the weekends are tough to get through. We tend to eat out on the weekend but I always planned ahead and cut my servings in half as soon as I got my plate.Good luck in finding what works for you.I keep raw veggies ready to eat at home.Scales do vary as well as pounds fluctuate all day long.At first you will drop more weight than later.I am excited to see the scale moving down for you no matter what the number is.

Paula, welcome to the thread.I suggest setting small goals so it doesn’t seem like so much to lose.I also quickly learned not to put dates on them; just work towards the poundage.Good luck! Winning the contest sounds like a great motivator.

Rod, I hate to hear you feel the need to move on to another job but it’s understandable.Good luck with that.Very wise words you offer about what others see is not what we see in the mirror.I think I have adjusted to my size and seem to be less satisfied with myself than I used to be.Does that make sense? I need to look at some of my old photos to get some perspective.

Well, I must get ready for bed.I didn’t even grade papers tonight as I was looking at diamonds. So many places don’t have pictures and EC aren’t as easy to judge based on the numbers.Maybe I will go look in Denver soon.Decisions, decisions.

Sleep well and take care.

Thats so true Rod, I know Hubby worries how he looks especially in summer clothes and likes to have reassurance that he looks good!

35.gif
Hi everyone!

I lost 5lbs! I know it''s mostly water weight, but still! Yayness!!!

Lorelei, yes we all need an occasional reassurance we look good.

Dani, congratulations for losing 5 pounds.

Hey everyone! Been busy with house stuff so haven''t had my usual PS time! DH is out of town all week...which isn''t unusual but usually my IL''s are around and can help babysit when I go to my classes at night...but they''re not available this week. So, last night I was able to get one of my volleyball players to come over so I could go to step but I''ll probably be working out on the treadmill the rest of the week.
15.gif
I forget how expensive babysitters can be since I''m so spoiled with my parents and my ILs around.

Okay...really quick trying to catch up a bit....

Beachrunner~Congrats!

gecko~Yay for 5 lbs!!

bee~I love spin classes! Do you enjoy it? I really need to start getting at least one class a week back into my routine!

Tacori~It''s so hard to work out and eat well when you''re out of town/have a lot going on. Good luck "getting back on the wagon" Do you have a class lined up this week? I''ve stocked up our fridge with tons of fruit and have been snacking on it. It''s helped so I don''t go for the chips!
3.gif

Paula~Hello
35.gif
and welcome! I''m a kind of sporadic poster here but the community and support is amazing!

Skippy~Where are you? Did I miss something?

Marcy~I don''t think I got the chance to reply to you a week or so back about teaching. Your schedule sounds great. Have you always taught? Do you like it?

Sorry for everyone I missed! Hi to all!

35.gif

Hi Everyone!
35.gif

Thank you all for such a warm welcome! I think you all have had great suggestions and I am definitely not going to think about the BIG number and concentrate on small ones. I am going to reward myself with things (not food like in the past!) when I hit milestones. I'm definitely looking for any and all motivators!
My husband and I weighed ourselves on Monday and last night we took measurements and before photos. Holy moly... if ever there was a motivator, it has to be those photos! S.C.A.R.Y! It completely amazed us at how our perceptions of ourselves do not look like those photos AT ALL.
We also worked out last night and had a great dinner of chicken fajitas without all of the usual load of fixings we're used to. I am 2 1/2 days into no refined sugar and don't feel a real difference yet, but I did sleep a LOT last night - like 9 hours!
Hope you are are feeling and doing well. Onwards and upwards!
Gecko, congrats on the 5lbs!

Hey everyone! SO yesterday I realized that my final is NEXT WEEK GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I am terrified. I did 2 miles jogging yesterday morning and last night did the new Self fitness workout while watching Schindler''s list which was fantastic, I want to rent it and watch it again. Today I haven''t done much exercise wise but eating has been great. Had Smart Start strawberry shredded wheat for breakkie, lunch was a kashi sammie pocket thing with whole grains, chicken, a creamy sauce, sun dried tomatoes, peppers, and spinach all for 300 cals. MM. Dinner is spaghetti which I''m not eating a lot of.

THREADJACK (because I know I can find sweet Lor on here any day of the week)

Lor: I was just reading some Rocky Talkies and saw where you told strm that I didn''t work for JA anymore. HEE HEE. I should''ve mentioned that there is a shinier, new-and-improved Julianna over there who works at the NYC office. HAR! You rule.
41.gif

END THREADJACK

Also: Hello wonderful people of HLT! I miss posting and I am happy to see you all meeting and exceeding your goals! Carry on!!
9.gif

I haven''t had time to catch up on the thread yet, sorry..
40.gif

But, I do much better when I report to someone, so Shiny is reporting....

DH got a Wii Fit for his birthday (in early April) and now that my wrist is healing, I''ve been trying it out. I''ve picked a few exercises to really work my back muscles and it is working! I have quite a bit of soreness, but after so long not exercising--it feels good!

Hope all of you are doing well!!

Have a great tomorrow!

1.gif

Happy Wednesday kids! Sorry for being MIA--so much going on, so little time! Headed to Austin (no, not *Aspen*!) tomorrow for 5 days. Been working out every day (of course!!!) but the eating has been rather... um... bad.
3.gif
Will check in again when I have more time. Miss you all!!!
35.gif

Did Zumba last night. Thought I was going to die. Seriously why does it take SO long to get into shape but so quickly to get out of shape. Not fair! Went again tonight. Planning on going to a cardio class tomorrow. I am going to try to eat no sugar for a week (except fruit leather that has no sugar added, fruit, sugar free jello/pudding) we will see how that goes. Also no fast food (not that I eat that much anyways). I am hoping that if I stop snacking on sweets it will help.

Hi everyone!!

I feel I can finally post on this board because I've been such a slacker.

Paula, welcome welcome!! Good luck on the biggest loser contest with your hubby. Maybe you can ease you way into cutting back to sugars etc. Like substitute one glass of water for one soda a day. Then two, and so on. Or sub simple carbs for more complex ones, e.g. brown rice vs white, whole wheat vs white bread. These are all little changes that you can try and I think will be easier to stick to. One thing about the biggest loser TV contest is that it's such a drastic change all at once, you're TOTALLY depriving yourself and then you end up rebelling like you said. :) And as motivation, put up a picture of whatever blingy thing on your fridge/pantry so whenever you're tempted to snack you have a reminder of you prize.
11.gif

Charger, BC again!!! AWESOME! I'm glad you got an a$$ kicking workout. I love those. It really makes you feel like you worked you butt off. And working your butt off in the sunshine & warm weather is TOTALLY better than Oct. I think I'm going to try to wake up 20 mins earlier and try running with the dog or something. I say that now though....
Gecko & Elmorton I'm glad week 1 of WW is still growing on you. Skippy is also on WW too, and I think she started about the same time too. Do you find yourselves getting better at arithmetic while on WW? Another positive benefit. :) I'm not a WW person so I don't think I can contribute accurately but I find staying hydrated helps combat the hunger. A lot of times I'm not even hungry but my mind wants something in my mouth.
Stepcut what kind of yoga are you doing? I love doing yoga & Pilates. I think that's going to be my little workout treats for doing other types. It gets pricey though and I keep telling myself I need to save money. Another great benefit of yoga is that it improves your posture a lot. So even though I don't think I lost weight I do think I have better posture so it helps me look taller and a little thinner. Maybe it's all in my head though. How's your detox going? Which one are you doing? I did one with some friends, we did a blog about it. I posted it on the Colon Cleanse thread that was in this forum last week or 2 wks ago.
Kim, Boy! 3 jobs in one day!!! WOWZA!!! You need a nice long bath or a massage or something!! I think it's great that your hubby is helping you with the low fat cooking and all that.
Bee, I hope your headache is gone. I totally know what you mean about diving into food that's not all that great for you. I crave mostly savory stuff, which I think can be worse! I'm one of those anti-tough-love people but it's great you can motivate yourself that way. You said you have that trainer that helps, right?
beach wow! you were even good with the hamburger dinner!!! The best I do is have it on whole wheat buns, but that's still nothing compared to your discipline. Does lettuce wrapper burger get messy? 4 miles is awesome. And HOORAY on your awesome time on your race!! I can't remember if that was on this thread or last weeks...
Shiny my wrist hurts now too!!! I'm going to pop into the doc's next week. I'm glad you're going to be able to do yoga. I really hope that I can still do it, but I was doing some push ups today and it was slightly painful.
Tacori That's awesome that your mom is so healthy at 60! I TOTALLY hear you about getting out of shape so quickly! It's so not fair! I'm glad you're back to Zumba. Hm, I'm going to have to try fruit leather too. I LOOOOOVE dried fruit so fruit leather sounds like a really good idea. I slow roast tomatoes in the oven. THAT's SUPER tasty too!!! Keep us posted on the sugar-free week!
Rod I agree with you, we are our own worst critics. I'm glad you're a lot happier with yourself now than before Rebuild Rod. I hope you have a good uber day tomorrow. And I hope work gets better for you. :)
Marcy SOOO funny about the guilt trips! Awesome with the DMV compliment and being proud of your weight! Ooooh, new shiny things!! I can't wait to see what you find!!! it's actually going to be 80F here on Friday & Saturday so I think I can wear some fun sun dresses! Until it gets cold again :) My sister LOVES Bermuda shorts. They're about knee length and goes with just about anything. We're short though so we end up needing to wear some kind of heeled shoe with it...
Burk Sorry you've been swamped and haven't gotten a change to go to the gym. But I hope next week isn't as crazy. I can see how nice it'd be to have parents to watch your kids. How's T doing?
Deejay You're quite the jet-setter aren't you! Have fun in Austin! Kudos for working out everyday! I've been bad at eating AND working out.

Okay! onto me. I FINALLY did something today. I did a pi$$ poor run, only 2 miles and walked during it too. I dunno why I just couldn't do it today. Buuut at least I did SOMETHING! Tomorrow I'm going to hang out with my sister and hopefully do something.

My sister signed for her new apartment! It's in a full amenities building so I'm going to bum her gym and outdoor pool!!!
30.gif
(Dee, in case you're wondering, she's moving into K Station across the new Jewel).

My snacking has reached an all time critical status!!! I'm soooo bad at it. And my water intake is down. I feel like padlocking the fridge. I have been eating large salads before every lunch but eat WAAAAY too much during lunch.
38.gif

Tomorrow I'm really really REALLY going to try to do SOMETHING! Maybe push ups, crunches, or 30DS. I'm like Shiny, reporting into you guys helps keep me honest.

Friday is James's birthday. He's got class so we're celebrating on Saturday after his class. Another good friend of mine is celebrating her b-day this Friday (her actual b-day was Tues). So I'm going to be doing that on Fri, and James's b-day on Sat. It's supposed to be nice so I'm hoping to wear some cute skirts or dresses or something.

Has anyone seen Skippy???

Hi everyone! Was so tired after work last night that I didn''t get a chance to post. I went to the gym yesterday morning and did my workout and then went straight to work afterwards. Today I''m going to study for the day and I might go to the gym later but I''ll see how the studying is going first. Hope you are all well!

Rod-I definitely agree with what you said about being our own harshest critic. I try so hard not to be but I can be very down on myself. That''s great that you look so much better in the shorts after the weight loss!

Marcy-lol about the guilt trip. It does work everytime
11.gif
That''s so cool about when you went to get your drivers license. I''d say the guy thought that you were somebody else! We''re going to London, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand on our honeymoon.

gecko-5 lbs is amazing
36.gif
36.gif
Woohoo!!

Burk-I hate spin so I really don''t want to do it. Scary trainer is too scary to say no to though
8.gif
Maybe I''ll like her class though-trying to be optimistic! Sorry to hear you have no babysitter for the week!

Paula-I found that it took a while on the low-sugar thing to notice a difference. But 9 weeks in it''s so strange as my cravings are now for bananas and stuff instead of chocolate! Hang in there.

dragon-best of luck with the final. My exams are in two weeks and they go on for two weeks with a final exam in four weeks.

Hi Julianna and Dee*Jay!

something-I love the wii! It''s so much fun!

Tacori-I don''t know why it takes so long to get back into things-it drives me crazy! Zumba sounds like great fun!

lliang-yep my trainer helps a lot but she''s just not hugely personable. It works with me though. Headache is gone and I''m proud that I didn''t dive into the food! I find it so hard to stop snacking too so I''m trying not to do it at all. I''m very all or nothing so if I don''t do it I don''t miss it but I find it hard to limit things. Have fun at the b-day on Saturday!

ROFL!!!!! That was hysterical!!!
9.gif
I think I got Jim a bit confused there for a wee moment!
41.gif

Yesterday I did 40 min of cardio plus some abs after work with co-worker #2. I have my PT session today. Last night I tried on my pair of white size 2 pants that I got this time last year since I''d worked so hard in the gym, well this year they are a little snug. I was hoping to wear them this weekend so I''m going to have to start working out a lot harder so that I can wear them soon.

Well today at the start of my session I told my trainer how I really need more cardio mixed in with weights to help minimize my midsection. I told him about the devastation of my white pants. So he had said okay new goal size 2 white pants. He worked us so hard the first 5 min were the toughest. He had us on the TM with 5 lbs dumbbells and a super steep incline. Later we had to do bicep curls and triceps ( 10 lb dumbbells) while on the bike at a high resitsance. And then it got better...but wow I it was tough and just what I needed.

My WW meeting yesterday was great! First, I lost 2 lbs, which I was pretty pleased with since that was my goal - I think the scale was just off yesterday at the gym - at least I hope I didn''t gain 5 lbs in a day! We were talking about tracking in the mtg, which was fabulous since I had a lot of questions and I''m feeling a little more cofident (Btw, Lliang - no, I''m not getting better at math, haha! - I do everything online, so does all the calculating). AND - there was a mtg after for new members, so I stuck around - I guess I just missed the announcement last week. At that point, I found out that somehow I got my daily points wrong, so I''ve been eating a little bit less than I''m supposed to, which probably explains why I''ve been feeling like I''m starving all the time. So, all of this is good!

Then I went home and finished doing some yardwork with the hubby. I''ve never really done yardwork before (rented), and I can''t believe how excited I was about just seeing the small changes we made. I''ve spent more time in Farm and Fleet this past week getting all the tools to do that, though! I feel like it''s my second home.

DH is out of town tonight, which is when I usually succomb to the takeout demons since there aren''t two of us in the kitchen. I think I''m going to go for sushi, since I was pleasantly surprised how healthy it is.

On to other things -

Gecko - CONGRATS on your 5lbs!!! That''s great! In response to your earlier post - I''m finding that the cooking is the easiest part - it''s just that a) I don''t have time in the morning/for lunch and b)I miss eating out for dinner. Other than that...
2.gif
In all seriousness, the grill has been a godsend these past couple of nights. Lean protein + grilled veggies = bliss. Are you using the e-tools thing? Most people in my meeting last night weren''t using it, and while I know I''m new at this, it seems like it makes tracking a LOT easier.

Charger - Your BC workout sounds amazing!!

Stepcut - Sorry your instructor was kinda lousy - glad you knew what to do! Have fun at pilates! I''ve tried spinning, but my rear hurt SO BAD afterward. I also wasn''t used to riding a bike though. No, what is a ROM machine? I saw that and thought "rowing?" but I''m guessing that''s not it.

Paula - Hi, Welcome!!! I LOVE your biggest loser challenge!! That''s awesome. I told DH this morning that I''d like to do something similar - for every lb I lose, I want to set aside some $ because if I get the body I want, I''m going to need new clothes. Your goal weight loss is about the same as mine, and weaknesses are the same too, haha - maybe we can cheer each other on. :) Re: your question - I think I''m slowly starting to understand that I can''t deprive myself or I''ll go nuts. Last night, I really wanted chocolate and all I could think of was an icecream sundae but instead I made myself a hot chocolate and had a bowl of strawberries and was just as happy (happier, actually, because my chocolate/sweet appetite was fixed guilt-free). Anyway, we''re cheering for you to kick butt so you get that bling!!!

Beachrunner - Mmm, your burger sounds great!! I''ve done something similar that I saw on Rachel Ray - wrapped the burger in cabbage. It''s a little sturdier and you get tons of crunch. Nice workout, way to go!!

Kimberly - Mmm, spicy chicken soup sounds great!

Rod - Sorry to hear your job isn''t working out, and I hope you find something really soon. Your second pp was so insightful - actually, I was talking with my students about pretty much the same topic this morning (self-perception- they''re about to give speeches/presentations). Thanks for the motivation, I think we all need to hear it from time to time!!

Marcy- Speaking of motivation, OMG I loved reading your story about your DL! Way to go! It''s so awesome to hear things like that from real people.

I''m definitely taking your advice - I take baggies of raw veggies and fruit with me everywhere now it seems. It''s GREAT now since the weather is starting to get warm and I''m realizing how much these things were lacking from my diet, but I''m already thinking about how crazy I''ll be about ''em when winter rolls around. But, as they say, one day at a time
1.gif

Burk - Sorry you''re having a crazy week!
35.gif
back!

Dragonfly - PLEASE don''t remind me about finals!!
2.gif
Great job on your workouts! Your lunch yesterday sounds fabulous, btw!

SS - Awesome about the Wii! Glad to hear you''re getting back into it - you have such a great attitude about those aching muscles!

Dee*Jay - Have fun in Austin!!

Tacori - Haha, YES! I was thinking that this morning. Why DOES it take so much longer to get in shape? And I think that the more you get IN shape, the harder it is to get back at the level you were orginally at because you slide down further or something. Great job at keeping at it though, you''ll be breezing through Zumba in no time!

Lliang - Have fun at the birthday parties!

Bee* - Good luck studying!

Elmorton, I''m glad your WW meeting went well! Hooray for the 2lbs!!! Funny everyone still totally sucks at math. Technology has made my arithmetic HORRIBLE!!! But Hooray for tracking AND getting more points so you''re not always starving. Hot chocolate & strawberries sounds delish! Good for you on making such a good choice to satisfy your craving. The mind is a tricky thing! Hooray for winning over the cravings. Mmm... Sushi!

Apple, sounds like you had a kicking workout! good for you!

Hiya!

El, congrats on weight lost and a good meeting.

Lliang, they''re all part time jobs, but it means lots of running around. DH is the best, except last night he made dinner reservations at a wonderful restaurant. Yeah, I ate a lot of amazing(ly bad for me!) food.

Dee, have fun in Austin. You''ll have to tell me what you think when you get back. We were there over spring break and I thought I''d feel differently about the city than I did.

Burk, Skippy is at her Grandma''s for the week, no internet access. I miss her too. Glad you got a workout in.

Dragon, good luck studying.

So I worked out this afternoon, cardio and weights. I''m really focused on toning up my arms (and losing the stupid pounds I''ve gained).

Have a great rest of the day all.

So, I kinda found a downside to the healthy kick etc. My ring is noticeably looser on me now. I can even fit it on my middle finger if I really wiggle and try.
7.gif

Apple, I just realized I skipped over you in my last post. Ooops!! Sounds like you have an excellent trainer. Good luck with your White Pants goal!!!

Lliang and Kimberly, thanks!!

Lliang, oh goodness, I wish I wasn''t terrible at math! I was one of those kids that was in remedial math all through school (which I guess was a blessing since I have so many students who''ve had the same experience with English - I understand where they''re coming from). A few of my friends teach young children, and I think it''s fascinating how differently math is being taught in schools now - it''s so completely different than the way I was taught. I hope the next generation gets much better! Even though I''m awful at it, I think it''s such an essential skill.

Also- I think it''s exciting about your loose ring! Just think of it as a fashion statement - it seems like ALL the celebrities wear theirs so loosely!

Hello from warm and sunny Texas! My girlfriend and I finally made it here this morning (ended up taking a different flight due to trouble with the original plane) and now she's off golfing with another one of our friends and I'm hanging out at the house. Did an hour on the elliptical this afternoon... which will hopefully go at least part way toward negating that cinnamon crumb muffin I got from the Corner Bakery in the airport. I was standing RIGHT BESIDE the bananas... but somehow I ended up with the muffin...
33.gif

Off to take a nap (I've been up since 3:30!) and then we'll head to dinner.

Hi all!

Hey.......For whatever reason, I''m more at peace and less stressed since I''ve decided I''m just going to bide my time until something else comes along. I''ll work hard and do everything I can to be successful, but I am resolute in finding something that is more inline with the skills I worked so hard to develop over the 16 years with my previous company. And I''ve been getting in a little later in the morning, meaning I''ve been sleeping a little later too. For me, that''s a good thing. I actually left work before 6 tonight and headed straight to the gym and I had a really strong workout. My leg is still bothering me, but I just won''t let it get in the way of my life or working out. I have learned some stretching moves that relieve the pinched nerve and I figure it will just go away sometime. Tomorrow''s Friday, which is a big YAY, but Charlie''s working tomorrow night, which means no usual Friday night sushi, which is not a YAY............

I''m sorry for not having the time to say hello to everyone individually, but it''s late as usual, and I need to get some rest. I hope everyone''s looking forward to a great weekend.

Hi.I was very good today on calories.Woo hoo!Tomorrow will be tough though; we are taking the in-laws out for supper since it is my mother-in-laws birthday and they picked Mexican.I asked if she didn’t want to go somewhere nicer which I probably shouldn’t have said.I mean it is her birthday and the place is good I just thought she’d like a nicer place for dinner.Oh well, we will go and have fun.

Last night I went to the mall to talk to Verizon about my new phone dying all the time. They replaced it for me.The new one is working great so far.I changed their signature on my messages to say “Sent by my PinkBerry Fashion Accessory”.Ha Ha.

Burk, I am sure babysitting is expensive. That is nice your parents and in-laws can help babysit for you.I have been teaching astronomy at the local community college for 20 years now.It is just a part time job but I do enjoy it.

Paula, getting the before photos and measurements is a great idea. When I started a 60” tape measure wouldn’t go around my hips.Wow, that is amazing to think about now.

Dragonfly, good luck on your final next week.

Julianna, you work at JA?

Somethingshiny, glad to hear the wrist is healing.Woo hoo for Wii fit helping your back.

DeeJay, have fun in Austin.

Tacori, good luck on no sugar for a week.

Lisa, I hope you enjoy the nice weather. It’s been in the 70’s for a few days but snow is predicted again late tomorrow.I will have to try some Bermuda shorts.I have been wearing Capri at night and they just cut my legs in half so I don’t think they look too attractive.I am pretty short too.Running / walking 2 miles is not a bad thing. That will be nice to use the gym at your sister’s apartment.Happy Birthday to James.

Bee, good luck with your studies.Your honeymoon will be great.

Hi Lorelei.

Appletini, glad you had a tough workout. You’ll be in those size 2 pants in no time.

Elmorton, congratulations on losing 2 pounds. How fun that you are enjoying yard work.

Kimi, glad you had time for a workout today.

Rod, I am glad you are at peace with your decision.Good luck in your new search.

I am glad tomorrow is Friday. It’s been a busy week at work.

Well, take care.

Marcy

Julianna, you work at JA?

I did for over a year, I was a Sales Associate.

Thing is, they hired another Julianna while I was there (the outrage!! Hee hee); she''s in New York City and is a GIA Gemologist, and she is the person who pulls diamonds from the in-house inventory and gives them a look when people need such a thing. Clearly she''s more useful than I! Anyway I don''t work at JA anymore (it was my second job), but she does. Apparently this confused Lor, which is not surprising, because how many Juliannas have you met? Much less two employed at a relatively small company like JA.

So that''s the saga.

Have a great dinner at the Mexican place! Mexican is my favorite, and of course I like chimichangas and flautas the best. Has to be the deep-fried stuff, doesn''t it? I''m sure you''ll be far more responsible with your menu choices.
