Heart Diamond

We rarely see hearts here so I have no particular experience with them, but that one looks pretty good. I guess my main concern might be the black inclusion under the table and whether it can be seen or not.

Thanks, I'll ask.

how do you plan on setting it?

Probably a simple setting with side diamonds.

out of all the other options around that price and that size, this is the best looking one!

oh ok. I much prefer bezels of fancies like this (as you can see from my ring)so if you were going that route i would suggest going with GOG and just having them pull some for you.

Might still be a good idea to get a hold of them, they are just great at picking out fancies and im sure you give them your specs and budget they can find you something fabulous. If you are unsure about that hearts clarity, that is. If you arent concerned than that seems live a lovely heart....im just concerned how the shape will hold up on JA setting prongs, they can be a tad thick, and there bezel setting is too thick, as well

GOG doesn't even have a hearts selection! Plus, JA makes settings for heart shaped diamonds and I'm sure they know how to set it securely.

Thry will pull any shape for you it is irrelevant what catigories they have on there site. And juat because thry have heart settings doesnt mean they set them to flatter the shape.

Well, that just means the OP will have to wait for whatever to be pulled. And I don't understand the other part of your statement.

Many people have gog pull them fancies im not sure why youre saying dont go with them tbis time, whem its worked beautifully before for people.
And buying a fancy like a heart or pear, you are buying the shape. So When you buy a beautiful shape stone and hide that shape in 6 thick prongs, yluve muddled the lines of the stone and basically to a degree ruining the whole look of your stone. Because of this i think it has to be set in really delicate prongs or a bezel. Now because JAs bezel is lacking and most of there prongs ive seen on pears and hears are thick and therefor unflattering, i would prefer to look elsewhere for setting. That coupled with the fact john has a great eye for fancies, and has probably more access to hearts sense its not a common shape and ja doesnt have a whole lor, i would contact them.

Gog has a horrible selection of pears on there site but ive seen many ladies get fabulous pears from him. If i knew what i know now id have gone to him for my pear. Ive heard many say its the best eay to get a fancy cut.

Anna in theory the heart shape stone is pretty and truly is the ultimate love in a heart shape. In reality for longevity as an investment something you will enjoy after 20 years of marriage and maybe passing it along to a daughter or grandaughter stick to more traditional stones. I have a 2 carat trillion that I was engaged in 27 years ago and I don't even wear it anymore . I wear the emerald cut that was my mothers for 54 years and it is timeless. the trillant sits in my drawer. I don't want to be a debby downer but I do have long time experience ......

Because I don't like them. Their prices are too high and their stuff looks like junk unless you're paying 20k or want something less than .75ct. I'm not opposed to finding a setting elsewhere, just think it'd be more practical for the OP to get the stone and setting from the same place. And their prongs are huge and chunky. the OP found a beautiful heart at JA and has a video of it already for a great price! I do agree that maybe something with claw prongs might be more flattering for that stone.

maybe something like this:

I think a heart shaped diamond is far more "treasurable" than a trillion. And I think it'd be sweet to pass down to a daughter.

Good old gold. Sorry i forget how hard it is to know the lingo when you first venture to this site.
site.thry do not have much for hearts in stock, but what they do is you tell them your desired specs and they find you stones they have access to that fit your criteria. Gabriel and co has a cute little bezel that would look super Tiffanys if set with a heart. And gog sells those.

Id link you the tiffany One but im having trouble linking one that isnt mobile. But youd find it on there site

Hi Anna,

GOG stands for Good Old Gold, it is one of the vendors often used here. Here is their website:

http://www.goodoldgold.com/

They have a lot of educational info on their site, as well as videos on youtube.

I have no personal experience with heart shaped stones, so can't give any insightful commentary. Looks pretty, though.

Hi Anna,

Not sure what threads on PS you've checked for heart shapes but here's a couple:

I'm with Nielseel that hearts look best in a bezel setting as I think it accentuates the shape (prongs can make the shape a bit wonky looking) but whatever you do, get the setting YOU like.

I get what you are saying about the prongs. They should be smallish. A five prong is best, right? I have seen three prong.
