He makes more than she does too! That's why I don't get it. From what I understand he could very easily afford a half carat.

He's not getting deployed any time soon. They've been talking about moving for a couple of months, but only to Oregon.

Another weird thing: they live together, but they refuse to sleep in the same bed and not even in the same room.

He made a comment about "...getting a ring on her finger..." but it was about a week before she proposed. I think if he had said anything else about it, she would have told me. The way she put it made it sound like he would be marking his territory though...but maybe it's just me. So I don't think he talked her into it.

She's one of those girls that don't make friends with other girls easily, and I really think I'm her closest girl friend. She is very much a guy's girl-you know what I mean?

the only thing i can think of is that they might possibly be from outer space
weird people....

Hee hee hee. You made me giggle. I am starting to think that too.

Ok I have to go to bed now. Test tomorrow.

good luck on your test!

Looks like I''m joining the party late, but damn, people can be so lame sometimes.

Good luck on the test, Freke!

hi star!

Hey Smurfy!

I''ve been eating cake all day, so the thought of cupcakes makes me ill. LOL!

ive been eating potato salad all day hahah

Yum! I absolutely love potato salad!

Oh yeah, and I''m glad your SO didn''t really leave you for your mom. You had me there for a minute.

hahaha i was trying to think of a funny joke, i still need to think of a joke to play on SO though
what should i do, last year i put salt on his sandwich when he wasnt looking and he saran wrapped the toilet (which really wasnt very funny, he thought so tho lol)

Unfortunately I''m not much help because I need to get to bed now. Big day tomorrow! You should probably do the same, it''s late!

Have a great night, and I won''t be around much tomorrow so have a great April Fool''s!

Good luck on your exam!

I had handmade chocolate cheesecake over the weekend

. Courtesy of my sister. I went skiing and had the best mashed potato ever. And I usually hate mashed potatoes. Ok, enough food bragging from me...Good night.

Happy April's Fool. You really got me Smurfy. You should tell your SO what you did to us

"His wedding/engagement stuff=$850, hers=$190. What the heck? Any opinions on this situation?"
Well, nobody complains when it is the other way around, right?? So much for gender equality ...

LOL--this thread cracked me up. Nice one, Smurfy.

My favorite April Fools Day pranks:

1. When we were kids, my sisters and I changed out the sugar in the sugar bowl for salt and my parents ended up salting their coffee. Maybe that's why we (sisters and I) drink it black now?

2. When I was in college, one of the guys in my dorm sent out a message to everyone in the building about how it wasn't very funny that someone had thought it would be a good prank to put a dead seagull in his bed. He got all these people responding to him like "oh, I'm so sorry! That's horrible!" Turns out his email was the prank. He had everyone fooled.

I''m late joining the party too but helloooo, I''m here now!

Back in school for April Fool''s we used to paint tipp-ex onto the chalk so the teachers couldn''t write on the blackboards. We''d put it on both ends of all the chalk and then watch them work their way through it all, turning it round and trying over and over to get it to write...

I''m just glad that I''m not alone in thinking that their situation is weird. I''ll definitely let you know how it ends up, and probably anything else weird that happens...

Freke, their situation is definitely WAY weird. At least tell her that she should demand diamonds like a good PSer!

I know what you mean! After acting like that about my cute little (7.4ct) topaz, I figured she would INSIST on diamonds. But...no. Totally weird. But again, she''s not a PSer and I think size was pretty important to her. But it''s still CZ. I can''t get my head wrapped around it.

Update on the situation: Wedding is April 14.

the wedding is so soon?!

someone needs to kick that couple in the butt

and on to other replies
i totally like the idea of switching salt..but i did salt last year, ive got all day to think i guess tho!

i also wish i wouldve thought of the chalk thing back when we still had chalkboards, that is too funny

last night i dreamdt that i had a ring on my finger finally and nobody cared! it was terrible! i woke up all pissed off at everyone and then realized i didnt even have the ring so it didnt matter lol

You ladies are making me feel hungry talking about your ''cupcakes.'' We call them ''Fairy cakes'' here in the UK but they don''t sound as nice as your cupcakes!!

Treated myself today and went to a spa with SO''s sister. Had a really nice time ''til she started talking about how her boyfriend keeps saying he wants to marry her. Sorry ladies but couldn''t help but feel jealous, she''s three years younger than me and has been seeing her boyfriend for three years less. I know that shouldn''t matter but I''m sure you''ll all understand.......

Yes! 13 days. Apparently she's been freaking out a bit--not about getting married, but about "all the stuff she has to do". No comment.

I'm having a serious cupcake craving...The dang cupcake place is a five minute drive away and I'm soooooo tempted...

Plus I really want to go get an estimate on how much it'd cost to get my topaz set, even though I can't at all afford it.

But I can so afford some cupcakes...

And CF-we TOTALLY understand. Kick her!

Man--I am anti-buying cupcakes from stores, but if you guys keep talking about them, I may have to make an exception to the rule!!!

Noooo! The cupcake cult is luring me in with promises of sweet deliciousness!

Why are you anti-buying cupcakes from stores?

I did it. Now I''m happily munching on a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting...

haha
me and so are going out to dinner at tgi fridays because we have a coupon and no food in the house
yay!!!!

Well it''s time for me to go to sleep now cos it''s past midnight and I''m really tired. There''s only one problem, all I can think about are your cupcakes!! I am really craving one! Mmmmmmm.........

Sleep well CF! Meanwhile, I''ll be enjoying my cuppies...

Smurfy- I love the Jack Daniels sauce at TGIFridays. Yum. But for some reason, we never go there...must remedy that...

First off, they are ridiculously overpriced. $4 for a cupcake? Craziness.

Secondly, a ton of stores sprang up seemingly overnight. I have a natural aversion to whatever the current fad is...perhaps it was a bad experience with Pogs in elementary school...

ETA: We don't even have a TGI Fridays. It's a new month, though, which means a new budget, which means maybe I can convince Kris that we need to order pizza.
9.gif
Actually, we have falaffels (sp?) in the fridge, so we'll probably make up some homemade tsatsiki (again, not even going to pretend I can spell that correctly off the top of my head) and go the middle eastern route tonight.

LadyP- where the heck do you live? $4 a cupcake. HOLY S%#*!!!!

I was thinking about this too when I was driving home from the cupcake store, wondering if it'll be gone in no time like so many other trends before, or if it's here to stay, at least for a little while. I keep thinking about opening my own cupcake place, so thats why I feel inclined to think about these things. Recently though, it's turned into a more "dessert" place though, because I *AM* afraid that it will just be a trend.

It is hard to plunk down my hard earned $$ for something that I could make for about 25 cents per cake, but I just can't handle going through the labor sometimes...Plus, I can't make as many different flavors in one sitting, where as, over there, I can pick up a dozen different kinds.

For the record, my cupcakes were $13.89 for a half dozen. Including tax.
