Hello everyone.
Another Newbie on the forum that needs help. :)
I'm looking for a diamond ring and stopped by couple places like zales and kay.
And found this website. It ROCKS!!!! :)

Now, Can someone direct me to Good Reputable Jewerlers located in NYC/NJ area?
Also, I was looking at this one ring at Kay.
IGI certified 0.69ct G / vvs1 with Square Mod Brilliant Cut (Leo line from Kay) for 3800.
Measurement is 4.83x4.62x3.63 and Polish and Symmetry are both Good.
Is this good price or I can find a better one?
I am looking for something between 3/4~1ct but this ring caught my eyes.
So I thought it was worth asking.

I hope I can find THE RING soon. :)
Thanks in advance.

Please do not buy a diamond from Kay. And most importantly stay away from the Leo diamond. Unless you absolutely love it more than anything and feel its the only diamond for you. Leos are for people who really love them and don''t care about quality VS price and that''s okay but you seem to be looking for something more

Lets start with IGI reports. They are worthless!!! They are known to grade diamonds loose. For example

GIA says X diamond is I Color and SI1 clarity. If you sent the same diamond to IGI. They would tell you it G color VS1 clarity. so all in all, stay away from IGI or EGL. Not just that they grade loose but the way I see it. Vendors who use IGI reports and trying to sell you lower quality and make you think its better so to me that vendor already seems shady.

Leo prices are horrible. My husband bought me a .69 I SI1 Leo and it cost 4,200. I could have gotten a stone with all the same specs for half the price. The best place to buy a diamond is online through a pricescope vendor like WHITEFLASH, GOOD OLD GOLD, OR JAMES ALLEN.The prices are the lowest I have seen anywhere and the quality is superb . A lot of people here at PS are very educated about diamonds and would never lie to you. You came to the right place. I am not as experience but every time I had a diamond concern, I came right here and they helped me through a really bad horror story with Kay and the LEO.

Leo diamonds are also not always cut well and Kay markets them as a perfect cut but that''s not true. You can tell by the specification how well the stone is cut and I wish I knew this 6 months ago.
We can help you find an ideal cut within your budget. How much are you looking to spend? and what CW clarity and color are you looking for?

I forgot to mention. Here is a topic with a few bad kay stories including mine.

A great jeweler in your area I would recommend is goodoldgold.com. They have some options in your budget, here are a few:

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/2850/

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3797/

I would also recommend whiteflash.com.......they have a ton of princess cuts in your budget, here is a few:

http://www.whiteflash.com/princess/Princess-cut-diamond-1204621.htm#

Kay is over charging you too much.

Go with GOG, stones pointed out by W is great, they are located in Long Island.

Thanks for the Warm welcoming and the helps.
I will be staying away from the Kay haha.
And my price range is somewhere around 6~8k with setup. So if anyone sees good diamonds around that price range, please let me know.
I''m browsing Whiteflash now and found a couple.

Also if anyone know reputable local jewerlers other than the internet vendors around NYC/NJ Area please dirict me there too.
Thanks again for all the replies.

You should get a GORGEOUS diamond for that price...if you see a mall store...RUN!
