Help finding some baby AVRs.....

How about a three stone? These antique style cuts look phenomenal in rings where the center and sides are almost the same size. for example, a 6mm center with two 5.5mm sides. Or a 5.5mm with two 5mm sides. There is a PSer with an AVR three stone like that and its amazing.

I just like three stones a lot, more than graduated five stones. Just my personal preference.

And I wish I loves colored gems, because you are right: If you enjoy 8mm+ sized gems, it is too pricey in diamonds. Of course, some gems are equally pricey, but not all!

I have a five stone with .28 AVCs. I agree with what's been said: in some lights they're so blazing white you can't tell a difference between them and another ideal cut stone. The facets disappear in the light show. But in most lighting I do appreciate the unique faceting. At 6 inches I can see every detail. At 12 inches I see all the details if I slowly move my hand to get the light moving. At a full arms length, I see the Maltese cross distinctly but other aspects of the faceting blend in. I actually think the arms length view is my favorite. It looks like a crazy disco ball! I love that these stones "perform" fully from edge to edge. There isn't a wasted nanometer. I also love ideal cut rounds. I think my five stone has a distinctly different feeling from a MRB five stone. Obviously the cushion shape is one reason. But also the light plays off of the multiple stones in a way that is unique. It seems like the light ripples across the stones - there is such a fluid, liquid look. MRBs to me are more individual glitter pots.

It's hard to find the right language to describe diamonds!

I do wish I had gone bigger. I think I would love to go up to .5s someday because I like big diamonds. :) But I'm very happy with the performance of these stones.

I tried to snap a few pictures to illustrate my point but in the pics you can't see the faceting at all! Oh well. Here they are anyways!

Hope this is helpful!

FWIW, I love the idea of a three stone with similarly sized stones. Ooo la la! Coati and Packrat's rings are two of my favorites.

Thanks so much for sharing your ring Rosebloom, it's so lovely!!!! I bet it sparkles like crazy :)

I'm sort of thinking of something similar to this. This is PS-er hawaiianorangetree's graduated 5 stone.

Her proportions are 1.05, two 0.4s and then two 0.2s. So I am thinking similar changes in proportions, but the largest stone being about 0.75ct.

This also appealed to me A LOT. I unfortunately can't remember whose ring this is. But the sizing here is even smaller than I would do, at 0.47 center, two 0.12ct sides, then two 5 pointers.

Edited to rotate the pic so it's easier to get an idea of the ring.

I figured out how to link the stone I reserved. Would it be possible to get some opinions on this stone?

Basic specs: 0.75ct, H, SI1, ~5.8mm. Cut and light performance are rated as Ideal. How does the ASET look?

Edited to add: hopefully it's ok that GOG's logo is on it, since they are the only ones who sell AVRs....

I'm sorry to bump this up again, but was still hoping to get some thoughts on the AVR posted above?

Some more specs so you don't have to click the link:
Polish and Symmetry both Ideal
Flourescence: None
Table %: 46.3
Depth %: 64.3

It looks exactly the way branded AVRs should look, but it's a very tightly specified brand so you can essentially pick blindly and be assured that your stone will have the same "look and feel" as any other AVR of similar size and colour.

I love both those inspiration rings! HOT's has been in my favorites folder for a while.

Ah ok gotcha. Thanks very much for the response!

Thanks Rosebloom! HOT's ring is definitely gorgeous :)

Yep, gorgeous stone! It is pretty hard to go wrong with an AVR!

Beautiful AVR! I have an AVC three stone and adore it, and as mentioned someone has an AVR three stone that is stunning. You can't go wrong w/the AV's.
