Our insurance agent told us to never put it on a homeowners policy and take out a separate insurance policy through a company that specializes in this, i.e. JM or Chubb. They don''t deal with either but he said that his wife''s ring was stolen and their company would give them no more than $1,000.
All insurance companies have limits on what their ''normal'' policy will cover. Jewelry won''t be covered for over 1-1.5K UNLESS you have a rider & schedule the piece, regardless of carriers.
you are right fire&ice, I insured my ring through my homeowners insurance and they put it under "schedule." when the ring was stolen, they wrote me a check for what I paid for the ring. they were not going to pay for what the ring appraised for, but I was happy just to get what I paid for it.

Carolyn -- Keep my setting if possible - or send it back to get it to fit. I find out tomorrow..

I just got the stone tonight!

Isn't it worth it to go for the H if you can get something bigger???? Especially with those specs, I bet you will need uv contacts to protect your eyes fromthe sparkle!

OH OH OH OH that''s just fabulous!!!

Gosh Laney I LOVE it!! It looks really beautiful, awesome specs~!

Are you going to put it in your Tacori setting or get something like a solitaire? That thing looks amazing on your finger AS IS!!! No adornment necessary!

Ok - I took some more pics.. still in temporary setting. The setter it turns out - was out sick today... so I have more time for thought. Hubby and I discussed more tonight and I think we are pretty much decided on keeping it. So here''s some more pics of the H SI2..
