I am looking for a engagement ring. After much time looking...

I came across this WhiteFlash ACA Princess cut diamond. I am specifically looking for a princess cut. A bit more diamond and bit less than a round diamond, but each are beautiful in their own right. Also after a lot of research the WhiteFlash ACA diamonds seem to have a good reputation, especially for Princess cuts.

What does everyone think? :naughty:

I appreciate any responses or tips.

Girdle Thin Faceted

This would be the simple setting. I would like the main diamond to be the star of the show and not the ring itself. The ring material will be Platinum 95%/5% iridium.

Thanks,

~Kris

Nothing wonky from the info and pics you've posted :))

What does your rep say?

Re: Help me decide on this Princess Cut - WhiteFlash ACA Ide

diamond looks nice, do you have the ASET image? I tried to search for it on WF but couldn't find it...

oh never mind, you just posted it :)

to me, the setting looks a little blocky, but that's my personal preference.

Here is the actual link.

The diamond rep says that overall for the price this diamond will perform well in the light and will have good fire, shine, and brilliance.

Those were my criteria find a diamond within my budget that will perform well in the light and bring out the "WOW" factor.

Thank you for the replies. :wavey:

Looks very nice. If you wanna get really nitpicky, you could look for one that has more red around the edges rather than green in the ASET. But I doubt it would make much of a visual difference in real life.

Re: Help me decide on this Princess Cut - WhiteFlash ACA Ide

Yes, I see what you are saying. But a diamond that would have bit of extra Red on the edges costs about 1.2k more and have more defects internally compared to this diamond, which only has a small feather on the back side of the stone. Plus the other stone has a bit more table and depth. So I think I would prefer this one which has a smaller table to give it a bit more fire and brilliance over a stone that shows a bit more red on ASET but has more defects, costs more, and has worse proportions. Plus this saves a bit on the pocket book, which I can spend on the setting.

I guess first time buying a stone. But, WF has been helpful to get what I am looking for.

I a big fan of the round cut, however my pocket book is not. So I would prefer to get a better princess cut than a worse cut round... not sure if that logic makes any sense.

Is this for yourself or your fiancee?

Most girls have a strong preference of one shape over the other.

If this is for someone else I'd be sure I know what shape she wants first.

Are you aware that well cut rounds face up larger than well-cut princesses? A princess of the same carat weight will always look smaller... just food for thought.

Re: Help me decide on this Princess Cut - WhiteFlash ACA Ide

Yeah, she likes the square cut a bit better. So that's why I went with it.

Yes, I seen all of the data back and forth regarding size princess vs. round.

Frankly, once I think the wedding, moving in, and grad school will be done. I would get a round cut for her.

Plus with WF upgrade policy. I can always save a bit more money. Then upgrade to a nice round cut diamond. The round cut I would want would put me over budget. Since the price difference is substantial for same quality stone. Therefore, I am not worried since I will have room for upgrade with WF.

Re: Help me decide on this Princess Cut - WhiteFlash ACA Ide

honestly, if she wants a round, I would get a smaller round now. You can go much smaller in ct. weight for the same diameter.

Re: Help me decide on this Princess Cut - WhiteFlash ACA Ide

Alright, to clear up the confusion.

She likes the princess cut.

I like the round more personally. I am not the one that will be wearing the ring. ;)

well there you go :) if she likes princess, you should get princess :) (and not change to round later unless she wants one!)

Re: Help me decide on this Princess Cut - WhiteFlash ACA Ide

Well I talked with the woman.

We got on the topic of rings and she said her coworker had a round that she really liked.

I was like poop all this research.

Luckily for a WF ACA just became available in my price range.

Let me know what you think of this baby...

Thank for all the help everyone! :rodent:

Haha of course she did, isn't that just the way things work ::)

That ACA RB looks like it will be a pretty choice, from the info you've posted :)) I do adore thick juicy arrows.

Re: Help me decide on this Princess Cut - WhiteFlash ACA Ide

Well it looks like the stone I posted earlier was sold in 08 and WF had a system glitched.

I decided to go this one... instead in my price range.
