Hi there! I got engaged in November! I'm so excited and I LOVE my 2 ct cushion diamond. However, I need advice on the setting. Let's just say I'm very "detail oriented" but the jeweler is nice enough to change it until its perfect.
I had the jeweler change the band to a pave/bead set band because the original channel set was too busy and "sharp looking" for me. I want it to look simple and soft, and it was too geometric for me. Now the new pave band doesnt look much different to me, still busy and structured looking. And the prongs look bad to me...they stick way out instead of the double prongs going on either side of the corners. Everyone keeps asking if its a princess cut and i hate that because i want it to look like the cushion with rounded corners.
Take a look at my ring (bottom) compared to my original setting (top). Here's what I need advice on:
1)How should I make the prongs in order to achieve a simple, soft look, making it look like a true cushion, not a square/princess?
2)I want to make the band an open pave style, what types are there that look simple and not busy?
I'm glad I found this site, there are so many knowledgeable people here! Thx!
