Help me figure out these pearl "jackets"!

For the holidays, I got a pair of Tahitian pearl dangles that I'm thinking of converting into "jackets" for my studs. They're pretty long and I"m realizing that I'm not at all sure how long the jackets should be. So I'd love to hear your thoughts. Which length do you think looks best? Please ignore the hook in the pictures.

The pearls are gorgous but disproportionate to your studs. But short would be more vvote

Thanks! Heididdl, do you mean they're too small or too large for the studs? I think I like the proportions, just not sure about the length.

The length I like short.. If you are happy with the proportion than perfect I was just thinking that the pearls over whelmed the studs a little. But we are only seeing photos and not in person. So you are in the best position to see if up close.

I love the medium length. Hits your jawbone at the right place IMO which makes it v flattering

I recently got pearl jackets from Pearl Paradise. Mine are 0.5" long. If the chain has large enough links, you can thread the earring through the different links to adjust the length of the dangle based on your mood. This is what I did.

I like both the short and the long looks. Short for work, long for going out.

Sortmon, your jackets are awesome! Being able to adjust the length is such a great idea! Unfortunately, my the links in my chain are not large enough for that, I'd have to change the chain completely to do that. Were yours a custom order from PP? I definitely looked all over their site and didn't see any jackets offered.

IMO, long is out. Those Tahitians will just be bopping, bobbling at your jaw, weighing dangling down too much.

The other 2 lengths are your preference, based on how, when you'll wear them. Short is less formal than medium. They both look good.

Lovely pearls btw. I like their color and lustre.

Yup, they were a custom order. They do a lot of custom stuff and are very easy to work with.

Edit to add that if I could only choose one length, I'd choose the short one. This is my inspiration picture, btw.

I liked both short and medium, voted for medium, but if it were up to me, I'd chose a length in the middle of short and medium.

I voted for medium. I agree about liking where it hits the jaw, and it seems like the most versatile option--short enough for business looks but long enough to be more formal if you want.

I would call those dangles not jackets. I vote med. Looks good near your jaw line.

I agree - they are drops, not jackets.

I have fixed drops for two pairs of earrings. I am not a fan of seeing the chain as part of the earring but that's a personal thing. I voted short for that reason.

For me, the best would be which ever length compliments the shape of your face the best. It seems from the photo that maybe the short or medium would be nice but I find it impossible to tell just by looking at the earring.

Misskittykat, I love your earrings, especially the sapphire ones!

Looks like it's between short and medium. Perhaps I should stick with the inspiration earrings and go with a length between the two.
